ROME-ING AROUND
With the Delta plane landing right on time, we excitedly arrived in Rome. On Thanksgiving Day, we were at the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport. No problems going through customs. We didn't have any trouble locating the charter bus. Once seated on the charter bus, our wait almost became almost unbearable.

My trip to Belgium, pt.1
It was on this random day of the end of June in the middle of our picnic, that we thought about how long it had been since we'd had holiday together. Two years. I remember asking if anyone wanted to go to Amsterdam to see all the flowers and tulip fields. We needed to have one last trip together before we would be apart. I was leaving for the UK and one of my friends was leaving for the South of France, which might not seem too far but is a pretty long way.

Free Manchester
A while ago, I bumped into two Dutch tourists at Piccadilly train station. They were just leaving, having spent two days in the city and they weren’t happy. “There’s nothing to see!” they complained, at which point I reeled off a list of places they could have visited but unfortunately, by the time I was talking to them, it was all too late. This guide is to help you to know where to go when visiting the city, so that your time in Manchester is filled with so many places to visit, you will have to come back for another go.

He Was on to Something When He Knew Venice was Magical
“Travel has a way of stretching the mind.” ~ Ralph Crawshaw Our Son’s Wish Took us to Venice, Italy Our first international trip was to Italy. It was part of my grieving process. Ever since my forever 20-year-old angel was a child and first saw Venice in a book, he became fascinated with “the streets of water,” as he called them. About three months before my son died, we watched a documentary about Venice. He was in awe of Venice and said it was magical, “you’ll see Mom, one of these days I’m going to visit Venice.” Unfortunately, that day never came. During my grieving process, I opted to do for my son what he wanted to do but didn’t get to. One of those things was traveling to Venice.

My Time in Ukraine
Like many Americans, I had been hoping Russia's build up of military forces along the Ukrainian border would turn out to be a bluff. I was heartbroken when they invaded. For me Ukraine is not some abstract place, I lived there for over two years.
