If I went to work and passed this up, I would have regretted it, no shit/ It’s not all about money sometimes/ Can I get a co-sign on that? It’s occasionally about fun times/ That’s why I absorb the moment, I’m not that much of a dumb guy/ Not even this one time/ If it’s Christmas Eve or the day or more before and I don’t go to NYC, I don’t feel at ease/ Forgot to mention that upon getting to New York, we went to Jollibee/ Ate the bucket of chicken, fries and spaghetti/ I’m holding it down for you pop, in your absence/ Doing everything you did when you were alive, I have your essence/ It sticks me like a magnet/ And when it comes to your death, I still want some answers/ Started out raining when we were on our way/ To go to the NY, it first seemed it wasn’t ok/ It was bleek in the beginning/ Then it had a beautiful ending/ I was glad I made us go/ God definitely came to aid us, though/ I was content no doubt I made wifey say yes, fuck no/ The weather couldn’t stop us, what do you take us for?/ It was challenging/ But things started balancing/ These New York streets are the illness/ Riding around in Uber and Lyft/ Dad sacrificed for me, now I gotta do the same for my kids, so they future is lit/ All bundled up, wearing two socks on each foot, look it was super brick/ Had my pajamas under my sweatpants/ Was up in Marshalls/ T.J. Maxx, Bed, Bath and Beyond is affiliated, wifey was glad, could see a sparkle/ Thanks to the proud Algerian Lyft driver that took us that could see far and wide, like he had goggles/ Who was asking what my son was saying when he said gogo/He meant coco boss, when he drinks it you can hear it popple/ Need I remind you that my dad died at age 80?/ He was with us in spirit as we were in the NY, glad it wasn’t hectic like the earthquake in Haiti/ The day was amazing and I was soaking it up like it was my birthday going crazy/ Merry Christmas to you all!

The Hedge Witch
I met a real-life hedge witch when I was a little girl traveling with my mom from Missouri to Arizona. We stopped at a commune, called ARF somewhere up in New Mexico. She was named ARF because there were so many dogs on the commune. We arrived very late and it was so dark we could bearly see the narrow path with our flashlights. The darkness was so dark it felt suffocating. We made our way through the dense pine trees, finally finding the main house, which is basically a community house where all visitors and people who live on the commune can come temporarily sleep, hang out, eat, and possibly have electricity and running water.

Christiania: City Within a City
Nestled in the center of Denmark, surrounded by an old brick wall covered in graffiti, is the free-town of Christiania. I was fascinated with its history- created in the 1970’s when a group of anarchists, artists, and hippies took over an old military base and proclaimed it separate from Denmark. With blatant disregard for Danish marijuana laws and building colors, it remains it's own thing to this day. I had to see Christiania for myself, so I went in the dead of winter, and walked all 85-acres of the walled city within the city. I’ll tell you the ins-and-outs of this little Freetown and the best place to grab some grub.
