Travel from sea to shining sea; by car or by plane, there's plenty to see in the good ole US of A.
Eighteen Days On the Road
First off let me start with the fact that I am 54 and have only been out of state twice that I can remember. Oregon for 10 months, and I drove with a friend across 5 states which we never stopped in any of them, straight to Missoula, Montana, and that is it. So, my husband and I decided as soon as the ban to travel was lifted we were going on a long vacation. We were only going to take about ten days because he works for the government and he didn't want to be gone to long because for some reason he and his friend are the only two who do the job they do, so he was worried about coverage at work. I quickly reminded him that when things went south recently and he was working 100 to 130 hour weeks, they didn't care if he was working himself to death. He literally worked 6 days per week and was on call for the one day off he would get. He does love his job but enough is enough. So, he went to work the next day and made plans (after we discussed it) to take two weeks off, and put in for it that day!

During your travels, have you traveled to a World's Fair? Have you dreamed of all the fantastic displays, unique architecture, shows, and awesome sights? While the views from the Space Needle and the Tower of the Americas were absolutely amazing, my journey to these sights, occurring years after the actual World's Fair events. However, fifty-seven years ago, there was a trip. It was our senior year class trip. Come ride back in time with me.

Rambling about Cities and New Jersey
Urban development is a topic that is not too popular in writer’s circles, but it is a great passion and pastime of mine. The impact of a city on its surrounding region and the culture it disseminates says more about who we are than we’d like to admit sometimes. Every region has its city, so much that the people of that region can often say they’re going to the city and others know exactly which one they mean. It is the center of not only the local culture, but also its religion, its history, its economy, even its playground.

Best Places To Visit In California
Some of the best things you can do in California include tourist attractions like Napa Valley, Disneyland, Big Sur, and Lake Tahoe. You can stand outside and enjoy the amazing views of Yosemite Valley, Vernal Falls, the clouds, and all of Nevada Falls. In California, there is only one highway, where one can drive from the wine country to the beaches and mountains along the coast.

Oil and Midland, Texas
I've lived in Midland since a child of eight years old and now I am 50 years older. How in the hell did I stay out here in the desert and live is a bit confusing to a reader that has never been here. Midland produces 1/3 of the world's oil supply and Americans should be proud of that fact. This is American soil and American companies doing hard work. The work is dangerous out in the oilfield even with specialized equipment for safety in place the oil business is rough on a soul.

Fish Out of Water
Carmel, California. 2006. The first time I remember seeing the ocean. The first memory not on faded photographs, but in my mind. I wear a yellow sundress, brand new and already stained with ketchup. The water is clear, cool, and blue. The sand is hot under my bare feet; it clings to my toes. The sun is blinding. I squint at Grandpa Jim as he takes my picture, pose for the disposable camera. I stand in the ocean, hands about my head, thrilled to be standing in the Pacific Ocean – the real one, like you see on maps. I am ten years old and wish I could stay here. I don’t want to return to Ontario, to somewhere so far from this beach. Or any beach.

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum
I visited the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum during a short visit I made to Baltimore in June 2006, which was the only time I have ever been to the United States. It was the last day of my stay in the city, the conference I had attended was over, and I had time to kill before leaving for the airport and an evening flight home. Railways have always been a keen interest of mine, and the museum was an obvious place to go.

Florida's Grayton Beach State Park #30A
If I was making a list of the most beautiful things on the planet, somewhere between my kids and pizza would be the state parks of Florida's South Walton County. The coastal dunes, the mix of freshwater and saltwater, the forests and hiking trails, it is just the perfect combination of different environments. A little bit of everything, as long as you aren't looking for mountains I suppose.
