New Hope Pennsylvania
Everyone has wondered at one point or another, be it when you were little, or even now, what it would be like to walk down a street that had so much beauty in its natural surroundings that it could be called enchanted. Perhaps, for some, it is a perfect romantic get away place. New Hope Pennsylvania offers this. It is a little village tucked in by the rushing, murky waters of the Delaware River and the either still or churning mossy waters of the Delaware Canal, depending on the time of day. The construction of the buildings, roads, and even the cover bridge gives off the feeling of walking through a time machine into a different era. Many of the inns and other buildings have been restored to keep the look of the era from which it arose, 1700s.

100 Things You Should Bring When Volunteering in the Amazons
Comfortable and easy drying clothes Waterproof boots for hiking and dirty work Anti-insect spray Something against the itch if you do get stung Sunblock T-shirts with long sleeves T-shirts with short sleeves Shorts Pants Older clothes, which you do not mind getting dirty Pantsuits A sweater in case it gets cold Hoodie for the evening A dress or skirt Compression socks Pills against motion sickness Raincoat Flashlight Passport Any medicine you might take Pills against headaches and/or fever Thick socks Thin socks or short socks Underwear Bras Something to sleep in, which is not too warm or too cold. You will probably be sleeping in a hut with other volunteers, so stay covered up. Proof of your vaccinations Some projects require a police clearance A photocopy of your passport A photocopy of your flight tickets and other travel documents Chargers for all your different electronics. Packing cubes are great for longer trips and help you organize your suitcase. Bring plastic bags. You can use these to dispose of trash or your dirty clothes. They can also be used to vacuum your clothes, so you have more space in your suitcase. Waterproof bag for electronics Dry shampoo Nail file Nail clipper MP3-player. It sounds out-dated but it will save your phone quite some power Power bank. You’ll never know when you need it the most. Driver's license. You probably won’t need it, but it’s an ID and could come in handy if you wish to rent a car. Movies. You can either download some on your phone or bring the disc. Series. You can download a bunch of stuff from Netflix to bring with you offline Keys to your home Credit card ISIC (International Student Identity Card) if you have one. A foreign SIM-card can save you a lot of money if you intend to use your phone a lot. Google maps allow you to download maps offline. E-tickets if possible. Just in case you lose the papers. Computer Computer case Please do research your possibilities to keep your computer dry if needed. There are a lot of options and you have to find the one, which works for you. This goes on your phone as well. Make sure to keep it dry at all times. Bring a positive attitude and a good mood. Not all volunteer work is fun, but if you stay open minded you will properly meet some great people and experience the most incredible things.

Traveling in the Age of Terrorism
There’s a lot of negative news going around all over the world today — it’s hard not to notice that. Words like fear, danger, and terrorism get thrown around a lot. With all of this information going around, people are essentially trained to believe that the world is not a safe place. This thought is nailed into our heads nearly every time we open a newspaper or jump on the Internet. If one thing has been made very clear in the past few years, it’s that terrorism is virtually omnipresent — these horrible events can happen anywhere. An airport in Brussels, a concert venue in Paris, Manchester, or Las Vegas, a nightclub in Orlando — these tragedies don’t focus on one country or type of place. In fact, they seem so random that they trigger a sense of panic whenever we hear about the latest attack, because we have no idea what could come next. People who have planned international travel, and even travel within their own country, begin to question if they should go through with their plans. Should they reroute the Paris trip they’ve dreamed of for so long to New York or Australia? Should they reschedule that trip to the UK until the panic subsides and security increases? Or should they nix that dream trip altogether, since it’s just not worth the risk?

5 Experiences in Louisiana
When you close your eyes, and someone mentions Louisiana, what are the first things that come to mind? New Orleans, Mardi Gras, and the oh so popular, Bourbon Street. I had visited Louisiana the week after Mardi Gras, and while the exuberance of Mardi Gras had passed, the excitement was still there. I’ll explain the places I went to and the things that I had seen while I was there that were very wonderful and made my experience feel spectacular.

Jokes About Pennsylvania that Are Funny Because They’re True. Top Story - November 2017.
Having lived in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 2003, I can tell you: the keystone state is a weird place. It’s basically Philly and the Burgh on either side, and in between you can find a combination of the states of Alabama, Kentucky, and maybe Texas, where many tiny cities are found. These tiny towns are not only suburbs of our two major cities, which are some of the biggest cities in the nation, but also suburbs of some of what I like to call PA’s “minor cities.” These cities include Erie, Scranton, Altoona, and the capital city of Harrisburg, where I grew up. All of that said, please don’t root for the other sports teams, and I say this well aware that people in Harrisburg will root for the Phillies during baseball season, and then during football season, those exact same people will have Terrible Towels as flags outside their houses. Pennsylvania is also seemingly the one state in the entire country that doesn’t sell alcoholic beverages in gas stations or grocery stores, although there have been some strides made in recent years, but most of the time, you have to buy your alcohol at a state-owned Wine & Spirits stores. And don’t even get me started on the Wawa-Sheetz-GetGo war. With all of that in mind, it’s not that uncommon for people to joke about my home state, and to quote The Megas, “some sting but some can’t help but ring true,” and then there are some that are funny because they are true. I found a website with a list of Pennsylvania jokes that I would like to touch on a little bit because, like I said, they’re funny because they’re true, but many might not know how true they actually are.

My Little Renaissance
The sun was setting over the Pyrenees mountains, as I reached the top of the Piazzale Michelangelo viewing platform overlooking the beautiful city of Firenze (I know english is Florence, but it just doesn't sound quite as good, so I'll stick with Firenze). I turned around, put on a rather specific tune on my headphones, and got my first glimpses of the city's panorama. At that moment, despite having only spent an hour in this far away place, I suddenly felt at home. Not in a classic sense of course, but rather — like the comedian Trevor Moore once so elegantly put — as a conscious vibration observing my little section of life.
