What It's Like to Be A Twin
I am not an individual. True, I think in singular, learn in singular, speak in singular and do in singular. But I am not an individual. No, to the outside world I am a part of a whole. For the first eighteen years of my life I existed only in conjunction with my other half, my twin brother. He came into the world four minutes before me (a fact that feels more significant than perhaps it should) and our shared acclimation to the world and to our family has given rise to one of the most complex relationships I have yet to experience. He’s both the person I’m most connected to and the bane of my existence. But aren’t those just two sides of the same coin?

On My Way
My dad had never really been an easy person to get along with. Either he was upset all the time, stressing over the way things have been going with life in general: kids, money, bills, wife life, or whatever it was at that time; In his eyes, I always felt like a lesser person. I know now in my years of pondering what was, what is, and what could be..and WHY things are this way, I know he did everything in his power to make sure we were all taken care of. No matter the cost of self. He put all of his dreams and aspirations aside to make sure that the kids in this family were all fed, clothed, and supported. We made the best of what we had, and when things got rough, he was always there to make it right. Even though more times than less, it was all out of his pockets, and truthfully, ruined any chance of retiring for him.

The 5 Strangest Things 5-Year-Olds Do
Ahhhhhh, to be the parent of a 5-year-old AKA owning a miniature human being who has zero filter, hulk like mood swings, and lies better than most criminals. Sure, veteran parents warned me about the sleepless nights of newborns and the terrible tornado two's, but no one - not one of you -prepared me for the extremely complex and confusing fifth year of life. An age where a child lingers between baby and big kid. A time where your child can look at you, tell you he hates you and then accidentally poops his pants. No longer are his tantrums dramatic and easily curable, but now they are violent and almost demon-possessed like.
