Strong Woman Syndrome?
Last week, Monday February 26, I was diagnosed with Strong Woman Syndrome. My face remained expressionless and then I blinked my eyes as I stared in to the eyes of my diagnoser. I thought to myself, "Is that even a real thing? I have to Google that and see what that is exactly." And then I smugly thought to myself, "I’ll take that as a compliment.” I hope he didn’t mistake me blinking my eyes as batting my eyelashes, eww.

So lately, the world—yes, the world—is all about legalizing weed, which I am totally OK with. The thing is...everyone is so hung up on the medical side of this, which, in itself, is good. What about all the benefits of hemp, though? These benefits are things we should also be looking into for an example, and I will delve deeper into some others, but an example would be creating a combustible fuel using hemp. What? Don't you think that's possible? I think some research should be done on your half, because this is completely possible. Just look up Henry Ford's all hemp car that ran on hemp fuel and was completely made up of hemp made steel, which is stronger than our normal steel.

Ethnos This game is a mix between Lord of the Rings and Risk, but I do not like Risk and I love this game. With certain cards, you put a token on a city and gain points each round from how many tokens you put on that certain city or other cities. If you play with more than two people, you get three rounds. Depending on the types of cards you choose, you can steal others, play twice, place tokens wherever you want, etc. This game is very entertaining and strategic.

Life is not always good but when it is, I want you to know it. I'm finally admitting it. I'm admitting that life is good and I'm not just saying it because it feels like that's what I should say...I REALLY MEAN IT. Life is good right now. When my first daughter was born in July of 2010, there was never any question that we were going to raise her to be bilingual. My wife is from Lima, Peru, and though we decided to reside in the United States, we agreed that the Peruvian half of our child’s heritage would have an equal place in our home and family. Having met my wife when I lived in Lima, I’d grown accustomed to speaking with her in Spanish. We welcomed our second daughter in 2012, and have continued to be a Spanish speaking household. However what is “normal” for us is not the norm of the United States, and soon we discovered that what we perceived to be an advantage, would also bring its share of challenges to our children.
