Freedom Means Responsibility
Widely traveled, I say with certainty there is no better place to live than the United States (in my humble opinion). Americans have freedom to travel across the country and outside of it, at will. The pandemic over the last two years has placed some restrictions on the American people we are not used to; however, we're not oppressed nor experiencing the destruction of homes, schools, hospitals, churches, and apartment complexes. We don't have soldiers rampaging towns, raping, murdering, and committing genocide, as the Ukrainians currently are at the hands of the Russians. We can't imagine explosive mines on our streets, yet the Russians have mined the cities of Ukraine as they exit. Obviously, Putin is committing war crimes, and just like the Nuremberg trials so many years ago, those guilty should be found and tried.

A Modern-Day Quest for Freedom
A field of radiant sunflowers (sunyashniki) nestled in verdant foliage is an apt representation of the country known as Ukraine. Representing the warmth and power of the sun, the national flower of Ukraine thrives in fields that face the eastern sunrise.

Korea - Russia - Iran: political messages with missiles!
The last two weeks of this month witnessed three serious incidents in which rockets were used. The first event took place in Iraq, where the Iranian Revolutionary Guard targeted a site in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region, with twelve missiles at the dawn of March 13, and the second took place five days after the first, when the Russian army targeted areas in Ukraine with supersonic “Kinzhal” missiles. As for the third, it happened 6 days after the Russian bombing, in which North Korea used an intercontinental ballistic missile that fell in the “exclusive economic zone” of Japan.

Freedom is personal and communitive.
I feel like I am in an excellent position to talk about freedom. I fought, bled, and was willing to give my life for it. Twenty-one years is what I gave in the name of freedom. I have witnessed the very best and the very worst of what a country implies when it states that its citizens are 'free' and lived to tell the tale.

Call Me Freedom
What does freedom mean to you? Is it staying up all night and sleeping in? Having no one there to dictate how you spend your time or make the choices you do… Is it deciding that you will have that mimosa before noon, or choosing between the red or blue top without your partner breathing down your neck? Is it the luxury of being able to take a sick day when you need it? Does it arrive each time you head to the polling station and vote for what you want to see in the world? Is it buying enough food for the month and still being able to pay the bills? Perhaps freedom is having no bills! Perhaps it is being able to walk down the street where you live and feel safe.

Will NATO borders extend to Ceuta and Melilla?
It is not new for the idea to be raised, but at a time when Putin is still determined to prevent NATO from expanding further east of Europe, who do you think can stand in the way of the alliance if it wants to expand from the other side, that is, to the southern borders of the continent? This may not seem possible or expected right now. The Ukrainian fire has not yet been extinguished, and no one can say for sure where it will spread, or whether its fire will recede quickly, or not?

When some Arabs support the invasion of Ukraine
This happened in the summer of 1990. Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait at the dawn of August 2, and President Saddam Hussein made a series of statements stressing the centrality of the Palestinian cause, in a strong criticism of the world's handling of it other than what it does with its invasion of its southern neighbor.
