controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
As Well
I get it. I really do. I am a black man and it has been wearying, even for me, the worldwide movement that is Black Lives Matters. That is not to say I am sick of hearing about it. It is, unfortunately, a necessary movement but like the Me Too movement of recent years, a movement that was adopted by Hollywood but in truth was created a decade before to highlight sexual abuse and harassment, something related to half of the world’s population.

Perspective on "Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies: Migrant Farmworkers in the United States," by Seth Holmes.
Seth Holmes composed a wonderful book based on his ethnographic field work. His vignettes were memorable and personal from his arrest by the Border Patrol, to his realizations of the social capital his skin color afforded him. He also intertwined several theoretical concepts throughout the book to break down the social/structural inequalities his Triqui friends experienced crossing the border, working on the farm, and through dealing with the medical systems. Holmes introduced the concept of the violence continuum to illustrate their suffering, and discussed how the clinical gaze can be dehumanizing; both ideas are quite interesting and dissect what is happening with precision in the lives of Triqui migrant farm workers.

A frank letter to white people who may have disputed the fact that Black Lives Matter.
I was not initially going to write this, but with my attention recently having been caught by a fellow Vocal Challenge writer, I felt a significant and immediate urge to do so.

What is this world coming to?
What is this world coming to? Too much is going on. We have a president like Trump not really doing much to help the situations at hand. Trump seems to have a child like mind. He seems like he does not know what to do. His responses to situations are just ridiculous. He doesn't have the right people helping him.

If You Are Anti LGBTQIA+, You Are Not Pro Black
Happy Pride Month, everyone! I know that it's really tense right now with everything going on, and there is a lot of uncertainty, but I hope that you are still celebrating yourselves for who you are. You are all loved and accepted!

The Only Thing Wrong With ‘The Youth’ is Your Opinion of Them
I was born in 1994, so I am a millennial; just one year shy of being part of Gen Z. Meaning I had the privilege to grow up closely with both generations. I had the privilege of seeing the generational gap being created between Gen Z and everyone else. Gen Z grew up in a time that was extremely different from what anyone had ever experienced before them; the age of technology. I remember using encyclopedias in school on essays and projects, but I also remember googling what I needed on other essays and projects. Neither is foreign to me, but there are millennials who never had technology at their fingertips until they were in their twenties. Here lies the disconnect.

Institutional racism must end before the racism in hearts will end
“It may be true that the law cannot change the heart, but it can restrain the heartless” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. uttered those words in December 1963 in an address at Western Michigan University shortly after the assignation of President Kennedy. The Civil Rights icon added “It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me and I think that is pretty important also.”

‘Covid’ Ops: The Gates to Wuhan
While Bill Gates’ involvement at every stage of the Covid19 saga that has devastated the world in 2020 could just be the foresight of a very benevolent philanthropist, personally I tend to think it would be a very naive way of viewing the situation.
