support
A solid support system is invaluable for one's recovery from psychiatric illness and mental health issues.
On becoming in our modern times.
We live in tight shoes, tight mindsets, tight budgets. Always attempting to squeeze ourselves into something that doesn’t quite sit right. We morph and change and mould ourselves into who we ‘should’ be. Then, we become fretful and anxious, always worrying about maintaining this incongruous disposition. Pervasive self-deprecation seems to be the new trend, and if you are not continuously seeking to redefine and improve yourself, you are ostracised. From healing childhood trauma, becoming more confident, to changing addictive behaviour, the health & wellness industry is utterly capitalising on our deeply discontented modern lives & lack of truly compassionate leaders. Selective inclusivity rules, and we are encouraged to love & honour all that we are, unless of course that involves ‘bad’ and ‘negative’ traits, which must be cleansed from our system to allow us to be whole again.

The Power of Words
How do you heal after trauma? How do you even try to begin? Trauma comes in so many shapes and sizes but for me, personally, it consists of years of fertility treatments and 6 unsuccessful IVF cycles. 6 cycles of injections, of scans, of doctors and blood tests all ending with empty arms. The trauma that those years of pain and heart break left was just too much, too heavy to continue to carry and so it ultimately resulted in the failure of my marriage, the ending of a love affair.

Recovery-Oriented Practice and Mental Illness Stigma
Unfortunately, mental health professionals are a major source of stigma towards people with mental illness. Recovery-oriented practice is one possibility for transforming mental health care into a less stigmatizing place, so let’s talk about what that might look like.

My Boyfriend's Best Friend Is Repeatedly “Badgered” by His Girlfriend
Have you heard the phrase, “stop badgering me?” I am sure you have. But to those non-English speakers let me explain the meaning of this phrase. It means to persuade someone by telling them repeatedly to do something that they just don’t want to do!

Men Should Open Up About Men's Mental Health. Movember Is Our Month To Open Up About Our Issues.
The Movember Foundation's mission is to get people to talk about men's issues, men's health, and get rid of the stigmas of being human if you're a man. As men's health isn't discussed as much as needed, neither are men's mental health issues. Seeing too many guys leave the world before they should have was tragic, knowing there are likely more that will and it is preventable makes me want to remind people that talking is the first step.

Has Your Drug Use Caused You Problems with Motivation Or Concentration?
Drug abuse is a growing problem in society today. There are many people who abuse drugs, and it is very easy for them to get hooked on these substances. Unfortunately, many of these people do not realize how serious of an addiction they have until it is too late. When someone goes through drug rehabilitation treatment, they will learn to develop healthy behaviors and new ways of thinking. This will help them live a life that is free from drug use.

How Your Mind Denies Reality By Using Its Defense Mechanisms
If you've ever wondered why sometimes other people don't see things the way you see them, you will be surprised to learn that your brain distorts reality to help you survive or cope with complicated situations around you. However, at a certain point, these well-intentioned defensive mechanisms can become harmful by preventing you from evolving.
