Is it possible to test the sense of coherence?
Coherence is a concept we come across when we become interested in psychology. It means the ability to adapt to the changes that await us. The higher the sense of coherence, the more confident we feel. Thanks to this, changes will not surprise us and we will approach them in a prudent and rational way. Coherence has a strong relationship with our health, well-being and mental comfort. It can also mean how we deal with stress and how we perceive it. As you know, in our lives there are many different events and experiences, and some of them are unpleasant and negative (e.g. sudden job loss, serious illness, violence, assaults, burglaries, etc.). Everything will be decided by our individual predispositions, so it's worth leaning over them a bit.

Messed Up Systems
So in some of my books I'm in the middle of writing, there is some discussion about religion and deconstruction as I've seen this come up a few times over my social media since last year and I thought it was actually really interesting and thought-provoking discussion and wanted to include it in my novel and this is written from one of the perspectives of either the MC or someone the MC is talking to about this discussion, something they wrote out to vent out what they were trying to explain, cause this is an interesting discussion, especially as someone who used to be a Christian, raised one, I found this thought-provoking about people's different experiences. The personal details about the character were made up, though drew inspiration from a couple personal stories of mine to try and capture the emotions properly and also based off of some general points made in the actual debate I saw. Not trying to start an argument or offend anyone, just sharing an excerpt from a novel I'm working on about a topic that I find very thought-provoking and cause it's an interesting topic and kinda relevant in some ways. you can believe what you want, just remember that everyone's experiences is different and just cause they've left and no longer believe doesn't mean that they weren't an actual believer or haven't looked deep enough into the Bible and God, cause sometimes, when they do do that, what they see might not be what you believe, and that's valid, it's not the peaceful wonderous thing for everyone and there are some points to be aware of. Anyway, hope you enjoy, and remember this is just part of a fictitious piece of work, this is not aimed at anyone on here personally at all, and I apologize if triggers anything, please take care and look after yourself. Discussions are more than welcome around this, just please be respectful and aware of everyone around you :)

Broken Bonds, Silent Suffering
In the quiet town of Crestwood, a young woman named Emma carried a heavy burden within her fragile mind. Unbeknownst to those around her, she battled with a hidden darkness, a relentless storm that raged within her consciousness. Emma's days were filled with the torment of erratic thoughts, haunting whispers, and the constant presence of menacing shadows. She found solace in the arms of her loving boyfriend, Ryan. He was her beacon of light, the one who stood by her side as she weathered the tempest of her own mind. Ryan's unwavering support and understanding brought moments of respite, a temporary escape from the chaos that threatened to consume her. But one fateful evening, Emma's fragile grasp on reality slipped through her fingers. In the grip of an unforgiving hallucination, she mistook Ryan for a sinister intruder, a malevolent force that sought to harm her. Fear engulfed her like a suffocating embrace, and in her panicked state, she lashed out, narrowly missing Ryan's life with a kitchen knife. The aftermath of that horrific night was a shattered existence. The once-vibrant colors of Emma's life faded to shades of gray as guilt, shame, and despair took hold. Her soul was crushed under the weight of what she had almost done, the irreversible damage that had almost been inflicted on the person she held most dear. Emma's world crumbled around her. She was torn from Ryan's embrace and thrust into the cold embrace of the Crestwood Mental Institution. Its sterile walls, indifferent nurses, and the incessant clicking of locks served as a constant reminder of her perceived danger to herself and others. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and Emma found herself trapped in a nightmarish cycle of therapy sessions, medication adjustments, and solitude. The voices in her head grew louder, their venomous whispers echoing through the corridors of her mind. She was tormented by visions of her own demise, a relentless assault on her already fragile sanity. In this purgatory of suffering, Emma was assigned a roommate, Emily. A girl who bore her own scars of trauma and despair. Though their initial interactions were marked by suspicion and wariness, a fragile connection formed between the two broken souls. They were each other's lifeline in the sea of despair, finding solace in their shared pain. Together, Emma and Emily embarked on a journey of reckless rebellion. Fuelled by their mutual desperation, they devised plans to escape the institution's suffocating grip. Their nights were filled with clandestine meetings, hushed conversations, and heart-pounding attempts at freedom. In their eyes, the world beyond those walls held the promise of liberation, a respite from the torment that had become their existence. But as their plans reached a crescendo, a shattering revelation tore through Emma's fragile reality. The truth unfurled before her like a cruel joke played by her own mind. Emily was not real. She had been a hallucination, a creation of Emma's fractured psyche, borne from her desperate need for companionship. The revelation struck Emma like a lightning bolt. It was a betrayal so profound, so heart-wrenching that she felt as though her very soul had been torn apart. The room they had shared, once filled with whispers of hope, became a tomb of shattered dreams and broken illusions. Alone once again, Emma's heart bled with grief and sorrow. The walls of the institution closed in on her, suffocating her spirit, as the darkness within her threatened to consume everything she had left. She was trapped in a labyrinth of her own mind, a prisoner to her own demons. But amidst the chaos and despair, a flicker of resilience ignited within Emma's soul. With every ounce of strength she could muster, she resolved to confront her torment head-on. Through therapy, medication, and unwavering determination, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and Emma fought a battle that few could comprehend. Slowly, ever so slowly, the storm within her began to subside. The whispers grew softer, the shadows receded, and a glimmer of hope emerged from the ashes of her shattered existence. Emma emerged from the depths of her personal abyss, a phoenix rising from the ruins of her own mind. She carried the scars of her harrowing journey, but within them, she found strength, resilience, and a newfound appreciation for the fragile beauty of life. Though the road to recovery was long and treacherous, Emma refused to let her past define her future. With each step forward, she vowed to embrace the light within her, to shine despite the darkness that had once threatened to consume her.
