Can I Teach My Partner Self-Love To Help Her Low Self-Esteem?
The answer to this question might not sound positive, but it is highly practical. You cannot teach anyone self-love because loving the self does not come from external forces, or other people. It comes from how we were treated in childhood: whether we were appreciated or not, or shown real value for who we are, and also whether our relationships since then have changed that experience or reinforced it. Self-esteem, which comes out of self-love, has to be built internally, because a lack of self-love is indicative of an absence of self-acceptance, a feeling of inadequacy, and being worthless.

Finding yourself as an Indigenous person diagnosed with ADHD.
It’s such a strange concept, ADHD, it’s one that I am still getting used to and, ever more so still trying to understand. I only got diagnosed last year, after practically begging my treaty-promised healthcare provider to see a psychiatrist then to only have to convince the dismissive doctor that I deserved to be evaluated. I had already had the inclination that I was, in fact, symptomatic of ADHD tendencies, and I thought the diagnosis would offer relief in the sense of validation. In a way it did, but it also led to a whole new world I was not prepared for.

A Life Improvement I Made That I Wish I Had Done Sooner. Top Story - June 2023.
When my diabetes developed complications 12 years ago , I could no longer work full time. I spent so much time in bed feeling ill and extremely lethargic I could not trust myself to be outdoors sometimes, fearing that I might collapse. As my doctor put it, my efforts were like trying to walk in treacle! To keep myself busy, and at least to utilise my brain, I took to the computer to do my writing, but that did nothing for my social life, or even basic exercise, which worried me daily, as exercise is often better than medication for that illness.

Mental Health Issues
Having the best mental health for oneself is a great way to start a day and live a healthy and happy lifestyle. It is how people are able to interact with one another. The mental state that a person is in shows how they can manage stress. "Mental health disorders are characterized by issues regarding mood, thoughts, and behavior. They may also be referred to as psychological disorders, mental illnesses, and mental health conditions" (Smith, 2022). Another way of characterizing what mental health is through WHO's definition of what it is. According to WHO - “Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community" (Felman and Tee-Melegrito, 2022).
