The Echo of Empty Pride
When the spotlight fades, silence speaks louder

They rise with voices sharp and loud,
A peacock strutting through the crowd.
Boasting feathers, borrowed flame,
Hungry always for acclaim.
Their laughter cuts, their words demand,
A trembling stage at their command.
Yet in the hush beyond the show,
A deeper truth begins to grow.
For arrogance wears a fragile mask,
A hollow shield for heavier tasks.
Behind the smirk, the lifted chin,
Lies doubt that whispers deep within.
The crowd looks on, their hearts turned cold,
Admiration cannot be sold.
What shines too bright will fade away,
An empty sun at end of day.
True light is quiet, soft, and kind—
It lives not outside, but in the mind.
