Blue?

The Unnecessary Line

Why are you blue?

The sun’s beams reflect off the water, blinding me

Your smile is as bright as the blinding sun

My sunglasses are sitting at home

Why are you blue? Yellow really suits you

The sky is blue and the ocean too, it’s just that, so there is much that I rue

Have you lost your love, or been given the shove? Can you harden your feelings so as not to affect your dealings?

It is true, I am blue, but you – you wear a smile so white and bright, it wipes out any blight. I will stop with the sadness; you have brought me some gladness.

So, you are not blue.

No, and yellow suits you, too.

    Ironically, sunglasses are always necessary.

Oooo, the blue and yellow are contrasting. I loved it!

Lovely! I always forget my sun glasses as well and they often randomly pop in my mind.

  • Great take on the challenge, ironically, all lines in a poem are necessary

  • Love the last line. LOL
