Plan ahead.

Plan far far ahead

It won’t work if you suddenly vanish

People will look for you

Take your time

Save money

Make a plan

Stick to it

Start distancing yourself from the life you want to leave

But give no indication you intend to disappear

Become quiet and invisible, but focused and content

Let others believe you are working on yourself and your dreams

They see you less because you are busy

They don’t worry because you still keep in contact

You slip away slowly over time

Eventually you become an afterthought

In the background, save and plan

Find an affordable place to disappear

Figure out how you will support yourself

Create a new identity with a background that is believable

Research your future destination

Make sure you can live there in peace

Then find a way to get there without leaving a trace

When the time comes, you can’t leave a paper trail

But you also can’t raise any suspicions

You don’t want anyone coming to look for you

A good decoy story is to plan an open-ended trip

This lets people know you will be gone, but doesn’t provide details

Slowly turn assets into cash

Remove things from your life that tie you down

Bank accounts, subscriptions, GPS fitness trackers

The phone and computers will be the last to go

When the time comes, act normal

You’re going on a trip

You don’t know when you’ll be back

You’ll try to stay in touch, but you’ll be busy

Calls and texts fade away

No one worries or looks for you

You’re off living your life

And you become a distant memory

Plan ahead.

Plan far far ahead

It won’t work if you suddenly vanish

People will look for you

Take your time

Save money

Make a plan

Stick to it
