All tears have fallen

My heart has emptied

All the hurt, all the suffering

Enduring what one shouldn’t

Death should have come

Life instead has persisted

Feeling has numbed

Hatred deceased

Kindness my dream

Though it still eludes

A striving for it

That is all I have

Please grant that

Let me feel again

This is another of my older pieces. I don’t love this one, but I don’t feel like I can just erase all the writing I don’t think is perfect from my notebooks. I tweak it as I put it up here, but up it goes. I obviously won’t post everything I have ever written in my entire life. However, I kept these pieces, in some cases transcribed them from old notebooks for a reason. They were really important for me to write them, even if they aren’t really important works of writing.
