Blank, two, hearts, for, five, and

nix

Top Story - February 2026

I have a photo album with my greatest memories mix

Inside are several photos labeled:

Blank, two, hearts,

for, five,

and nix.

Blank went my mind when we first met,

No words we held hands ‘cross the table.

Two of us quickly:

Crashed and collided,

Joined and divided,

at the soul,

at the hips,

at the...

Hearts that beat,

when we made love,

Along the barefoot reaches.

For many days and many years,

We aged with all of our graces,

With,

Five times the faces, and so many places,

making sure we were leaving our traces of,

White picket fences,

Warm picnic benches,

Clippers and hedges,

The expanses, the edges,

The laughter, the sorrow,

The hopes of tomorrow,

Since the day we adopted our bundle a’bud,

Reminding ourselves we’d do nothing but good,

Forgetting chalk outlines all drenched in blood.

We were so happy, our smiles unrehearsed.

Family together to take on the worst.

I was curious where this title will take us. Really creative!

  • This is a super rad poem, I like the style you chose for this! And we take the devils on together!

I second that thought. Fuck 'em!!! I can't wait until someone gets impeached...again! On a lighter note, great poem, my friend. It felt nostalgic and wholesome. But that one line makes me think this is for the 'unnecessary line' challenge. If it is, it worked to change the tone in that section.
