This is great. I have very strange beliefs. I believe we not only evolve physically as a species, but also that we evolve spiritually over time. Love your poetry, sir. ⚡💙Bill⚡

  • Ooh, the development of man over time. I liked that, had me stopping to think about how far man has come.

Aren't you the master of the haiku!

Lamar, there’s a calm, almost archaeological patience in this piece like you’re uncovering layers of thought and leaving us to trace them. That restraint is really compelling.

The literal Ice Ages! Synopsis by Lamar. On point. Borderlines comical. Best of luck in the challenge!

I love how genealogy has provided some of us with information about who we never associated ourselves with. Neanderthals!

  • Interesting! This one made me think about humankind and how in this current day and age we have the ability to decrease death, disease, and injury. But for some reason it seems like we are going in the other direction. Great work as always, Lamar!

That should be true, but aren't we reverting to the Neanderthal stage. Plus we are moving away from naturalness in everything. If we relearn we may arrive at your poem. hopeful haiku.

  • Thought provoking Lamar. There is a theory that homo sapiens learnt poetry from homo Neanderthalis not sure where I read that. Another says that our DNA is made up in part of Neanderthal DNA. The latter being better evidenced.

What a great haiku, Lamar! Made me think not only of fire but also friction between Homo Sapience and Neanderthals which resulted into the latter’s extinction.
