Ex hiding secrets
my presence sets off alarms
“friends” oblivious
He smiles at their faces
pretending he’s not cruel
texts reveal his truth
He calls them pretty
says lack personality
unless there is booze
One he calls ugly
she invites attractive ones
she’s useful to him
I type, pause, consider
sending screenshots to them
fury in my hands

I'm sorry you suffered from giving your heart to someone like that. The only thing to do is rise above. Getting him out of your life makes room for someone who will be good for you and good to you.
