because there I am safe

My heart runs to you when I have no other:

I know you will always be there to comfort.

You are warm and kind like a good mother,

Also like a guide...quite expert and a bit covert.

Hope cannot ever be hidden from me on roads often dark

my feet, as I trod, won't be cut on any stone, twigs, or bark.

You draw me into your safety with subtle glow

but somehow (deeply) with each flicker I know...

I have a lasting, unchanging, true friend I call mine

and that is enough to sustain me throughout all of time.
