I Don't Say Much
an acrostic poem

Don't say much, do you? an impossible question to answer an
Incantation, rather: show me, bestow me your attention. But
Summonses won't warrant me to give you what isn't given freely.
Truthfully, I was building palace parapets in the air in
Reverie daydreaming last night's dream crystal gazing eyes alive
Aligned to the long horizon line the privacy of my mind
Capsized - when you interrupted, uninvited, and commanded
That I speak.
I invoke distraction, my talisman of protection, against the wandering
Of your envious ear and covetous eye. I say all that is mine is mine. So,
No, I don't say much, do I?

Congratulations on the win!
This is so beautifully and effectively worded, Ava! ๐ฅนโค๏ธ As an introvert myself, I relate to this very much. โค๏ธ I love this part so much, "I invoke distraction, my talisman of protection, against the wandering Of your envious ear and covetous eye." Absolutely wonderful job! โค๏ธ
"I invoke distraction, my talisman of protection, against the wandering Of your envious ear and covetous eye" Invoking distraction to avoid a rude command -- what a concept! I love the way your mind works and seeing it come to life in your poetry. This was such a cool interpretation of the "distraction" acrostic, and I enjoyed the entire thing! Very relatable, too.
Phenomenal work! ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
