Hobbes Song

A thank you song by the tiger toy

I was one among many,

in the gift shop of the San Diego Zoo.

Thank you for choosing me, Saahil.

You brought me to your warm home,

hugging me all the time,

giving me love,

asking your mom to feed me,

taking me for lovely walks.

Thank you, Saahil.

You gave me the name Hobbes,

placed a dandelion tiara on my head,

held me tight to protect me from coyotes.

You put it in your red tricycle

and ride around the garden,

making me smell narcissus,

thank you, Saahil.

Just don't throw me across the room,

even a toy needs dignity,

and it's bad for your eczema skin,

I hope you understand, Saahil.

I am very happy

to be your childhood companion,

getting to see you learn and grow.

Thank you for accepting me, Saahil.

Note: This is a thank-you song from the perspective of the tiger cub toy of my little son Saahil.
