Find a NEW Critter

I am cool, cautious, swift and can spring into a jump then leap and kill

I am FOX

Nothing NEW about me

Don't taunt me nor dismiss my fierce desire to devour when I need to

My name has been used, abused, regurgitated into scummy piles of lies

I reclaim my species. I rename yours!

There is no more NEWS to you in the name of nature's best predators

We shall proclaim loudly, viciously, wildly, panting, circling, howling...

Fox name shall not be exploited, we shall persevere!

Using our name in vane for personal glorification will lead to the hunt.

The BIG HUNT. For TRUTH, for the weaker humankind that entraps us

Beware.

FOX NEWS is not sprung from our den! Grrr!

Drooling mouths of wanting men, dressed in white skin, encumbered souls

With swags of green paper push, push, take, take, fake, fake

Put your smug mugs in the headlines...we will watch you as your egos

Fuel fury, fear and mayhem yet in the name of FOX, we will never, ever,

Trust your heinous ways.

It actually took me a while to realise what you were doing haha, but this was a clever twist on the name. I particularly liked "nor dismiss my fierce desire to devour when I need to" as a line Rock:)

Well-wrought! News hasn't been news in many years, from either side of the political aisle. It's all propaganda. Techniques developed post WWI have evolved, or devolved, to the point where no reporting is truly unbiased. Reference the Dewy-Lippmann debate. Lippmann was ultimately disillusioned, I think, to find out what became of his good intentions, and the events of the modern day seem to bear Dewey out on his distrust of the idea that objectivity can be maintained by an appointed body of experts. Here's a nice summary of the debate, which was generally a critique by Dewey of Lippman's work: https://www.infoamerica.org/teoria_articulos/lippmann_dewey.htm I read and wrote a voluminous commentary on Lippmann's "Public Opinion" but decided not to publish it due to my own disillusionment about the political process. Still not sure if I ever will. At this point, I consider it a time capsule of my thoughts on events circa 2020.

  • Hahahahhahaaha the Fox News!

  • It's always been "Faux News". Rupert Murdoch just never learned to spell.

Oof, this one bites! Sharp, fierce, and unapologetically wild—just like a true fox. Love the reclaiming of the name, the raw energy, and that warning at the end.

Reclaim my species - what a line! Yes it’s unfortunate there’s such a horrible news outlet that shares the name. Great stuff.
