This night is dark
With no end in sight
This climate growing unbearable
As we search for light
Fear plagues our communities
As monsters run rampant
Spreading their hate
And tearing us apart
Slowly and painfully
But gaining speed
Bit by bit they starve
And kill us with their greed
We’re losing our way, but we continue to tread
Humanity hanging on by a thread
Hungry for relief, but hope fading fast
We ask ourselves: How long can this last?
Even the moon has now gone dark
Her silver glow vanished
The blackness left, stark
But the faintest glimpse of earthshine remains
And with it, a glimmer of hope sparked again
A reminder that the light is never truly gone
Even in the blackest nights, the Moon shines on
So I gather the courage to look to the sky,
With the tiny bit of hope I have left, and cry:
Mother Moon, hear our plea
Guide us through this endless sea
Of darkness and misery
We implore you, show us your mercy
Mother Moon, hear our plea
Raise the tides, wash us clean
Cut away the rot, drown out the evil
Cleanse us of our pain and ill
Light our way through this dark phase
Help us break free from these chains
Help us shed the weight of our sorrow
So that we may see a brighter tomorrow
