Doors and Keys
A Tom Bradbury inspired poem.
Somewhere in time,
words become a voice,
that pierce our heart,
to bring tears and joy.
🗝️
Pure, untethered,
without deception,
an author’s light,
emits a reflection.
🗝️
No facade, pretense
or veiled proposal.
A glimpse, an insight,
novel and royal.
🗝️
Scripts elevating
leave all of us wanting,
seeking and praying,
for more ink enchanting.
🗝️
Thru artists we live
the story’s they give.
Ethereal doors to read,
with locks that fit our key.
🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️
Not all doors are made of wood
Not all keys are made of metal.
~~Tom Bradbury
Tom Bradbury was finally brought to his beloved home in England, July 2023, from France and laid to rest. Never forgotten, Tom, this poem is for you. I do expect your critique however noble, poignant, or witty. I know it will be honest and “spot on.”
You can read his work below as his creative lock fit my key. Maybe yours will fit too.

Your poem is beautiful, I’m so sorry for the tragedy behind it 🥺🙏
This is such a beautiful tribute, I am sorry for your loss my friend! I love the symbolism of the keys and locks and what it feels like to be an author! The metaphor that we each have our own set of keys that unlock stories only we can tell, is so inspiring a beautiful! Simply love this piece! 💜
