Eyes of hope

An air of innocence

Radiating from your newfound self

Yet the scope of your crimes

From forbodden times

Will not wash away and nor will your lies

The depths of your sins

They’ll never forgive them

No matter how little you remember

When I first discovered the girl you became

Part of me wished you weren’t to blame

But another part felt something gone, a weight

No more was an ocean of guilt or restraint

Now that she’s gone, is her nature there?

Reckless aggression, sword of despair?

Charging into worlds painted in red?

Indiscriminate with partners in bed?

Would it be justified for me to reveal

A key to a story unfulfilled?

The answer to my sought after seal

For revenge, justice, a long obscured will?

The people you hurt, they’ve went from your head

Do you remember how you and them met?

Your interactions with them, for better and worse

Does anything remain, blessing or curse?

Is it even right to get back at you

For misdeeds against those I hardly knew?

Horrid, despicable, as you were,

Can I let the ending to my tale unfurl?

Because telling my full truth hinged on your demise.

All I know now is there’s a destiny to find.
