Breaking Dawn

Dawn breaks, and so too do I,

in the same light, golden and pure,

enveloping the world around,

bringing forth all the beauty the eye can see.

So too my heart breaks,

in as many beautiful ways.

For there are things in this world.

There is love that,

despite the beauty it emanates,

becomes a victim of circumstance.

Love stories that will forever be love stories,

cloaked in tragedy

by that which is a crueller mistress than time.

So just like the dawn,

with her heavenly rays

that speckle light between the branches,

dancing on the edge of possibility,

so too do I break.
