Watching him on that stage

is like watching a fire burn.

Heat and art and rage.

The corners of my mouth turn.

~

And this heart in my chest

could be seen through my skin

if not for the blaze

of the flame he is burning.

~

I cannot help but swoon

as he grasps the room in his fist.

And I cannot help but gasp.

I have never inhaled smoke like his.

~

So if you could keep this second hand,

we may just survive.

Keep your charm at the end of my arm

and spark me back to life.
