A Selfie With The Dog Zoo

I tried to take a simple photo, just me and my sensible smile,

Then somehow gathered half the garden, who stayed for quite a while,

The dog leaned in from nowhere, grinning like he owned the scene,

And suddenly my quiet portrait turned into a magazine.

The husky stuck his tongue out, as if fame was overdue,

A pug in knitted dignity posed closer than he should do,

The kitten climbed a shoulder, declaring this was art,

While parrots squawked like they ran the marketing smart

A rabbit blinked in innocence, a hamster flashed his teeth,

A butterfly approved of us and fluttered underneath,

Even the frog claimed centre stage, balanced with delight,

As if the world had gathered there to photobomb me right.

I never asked for audience, I only wanted proof,

That I could take one normal snap without a paw or hoof,

Yet looking at that chaos now, I cannot help but grin,

Because the best kind of picture is when everyone joins in.

Love this, Marie. Was smiling the whole way through. Such a nice sentiment and great rhyme. A gold pot contender. 😉😉
