A Fish in the Pond

A Poem

By *+*+*~Teja~*+*+*Published a day ago 1 min read

I saw a fish today,

Swimming in the pond,

Its tail flicked fast,

Like it had somewhere to go.

The water rippled,

Circles spreading wide,

I tossed a pebble in,

The fish darted to the side.

It wasn’t shiny gold,

Just plain and gray,

But I liked the way it moved,

Quiet, but never afraid.

I wondered if it knows,

I’m watching from the shore,

Or if the pond is its whole world,

And it doesn’t need much more.
