Hachiko-The Real and most faithful dog
Just outside one of the five exits of Tokyo's Shibuya Station is a bronze statue of a dog named Hachiko. A similar statue, erected in 2004, is in Odette, Hachiko's original hometown, where it is in front of the Akita Dog Museum. In addition to the Hachiko statue at Shibuya Station, there are statues in Hachiko's hometown outside Odate Station, and another statue is in front of the Akita Dog Museum. Not only is there a statue of Hachiko in front of Odate Station (above), you can find Hachiko Shrine on the platform and many other Akita Inu statues in the area, such as on top of the mailbox at the Town Hall (see below).

When we were brand new at this game and had just started breeding our dogs, I was always surprised by the strange questions and strong beliefs of people who truly knew nothing about dog breeding whatsoever. Now, I’m not trying to sound pompous or superior in any way, but truly...this story reflects the fact that there are some people, no matter how much science, biology or plain fact obviously state otherwise, they continue to believe what they believe. “DAVE” is a perfect example in this humorous retelling of the tale.

Adélie penguins-Most beautiful penguin in the world
This includes species such as emperor, Gentoo, Adelie, and chinstrap, which may have different partners from year to year. Of the 18 different penguin species, only two — Adélie and the emperor penguin — have actually made Antarctica their home. There are about 18 species of penguins on the planet (the exact number is being discussed), which live from Antarctica to the far north of the equator, but only 8 species of penguins can be found in and around the icy waters of Antarctica. Penguins can be found in colonies of the Antarctic continent and on sub-Antarctic islands.

Spot and the “Ghost”
It was cool October afternoon, when Spot and I set out with my friends for a weekend at the cabin. Dave, Ricky, and I were all studying engineering together, and had just finished several gruelling weeks of exams. We decided to celebrate our hard work by a weekend away at my parent’s cabin, complete with s’mores, fishing, and hiking. Mom and Dad were onboard with the idea, as long as we made sure to tidy up the cabin before we came home. I even convinced them to let me bring Spot along. Spot is my family’s beloved golden retriever, who we rescued several years ago, and he is a huge fan of the cabin and the lake.

Bulls Like to Tell Stories
My name is Billy and I like to write. It is hard for me to write though because I have hooves. I have hooves because I am Billy the bull. Even though I am discouraged by the fact my hooves make it nearly impossible to hold a pencil or type one key on a board at a time, I write. I live on a farm, and I can not do much for the farmer like the regular bulls because I am not big like they are. But I can tell stories and the farmer likes to hear them. The farmer says if bulls could write maybe I would even win a competition or two.

Kitties Never Say Goodbye
You’d think I’d be used to this by now. We’ve already packed everything we could, and have put a majority of our things in the car, just finishing tidying up before we hit the road, but they are nowhere to be found. We look in their favorite hiding spots, in their cardboard boxes that they refuse to allow us to throw away, and on their favorite chairs, but they aren’t there. We call their names, shake their treat bags, and even offer something special like a plate of cream or a bite of tuna, and still, no response.
