The Difficulty of Managing Emotions During Highly Emotional Times.
Emotions are running high this year. On a global scale, we’re all facing COVID-19. That alone has brought about so many changes that I’m sure we’re all going to have to permanently redefine what “normal” is for our families, our careers and our communities. On a National scale, the U.S. is experiencing a another racial justice movement which I’m sure will also change our perceptions of what is “normal” or in this case, “right”.

A Spark Of Light
Glow can be a very broad term with different meanings, but the same concept. As stated online and in dictionaries, Glow means " 1. To give out steady light without flame. 2.Have an intense color, light and shine. 3. Have a heightened color or bloom on skin as a result of warmth or health. 4. Feel deep pleasure or satisfaction and convey it through one's expression and bearing. Many people would take glowing as a compliment on their outer appearance, but the truth is, anyone can be outwardly beautiful, and as we age, sometimes our glow starts to fade. As Maya Angelou stated " Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." These truths only bring us back to our real question, what does it mean to glow from within? Not only this, but what are some ways that I glow from within as an individual?

Learning To Surf
Life is like a wave. The ebb and the flow we experience is constant and inevitable. Things come and they go. Moments shift, emotions change, we feel happiness then sadness etc...One without the other is next to impossible. Everything has its polar opposite. For example, let's look at an actual wave...the water at the bottom (wave trough) begins to move upward into a wave crest. If neither the bottom or top of the wave existed, the wave itself would not exist. Make sense? There are the ups, the downs and everything in between. Learning how to navigate and find the grace and balance between the three, is where our work lies. This journey is something our souls crave.

Do you lack self discipline?
If you’ve ever tried to break or make a new habit you know how challenging it can feel. The first couple of days you are motivated and excited, but slowly as time passes your old habits just seem to creep back into your routine.

Love Thyself and Prosper
Many a time do we hear "love yourself" or "you are worthy of love" or similar suggestions to help us achieve a sense of stability and joy in our lives. But what does that really mean? Do we actually know how to do that? What does loving oneself actually look like? I've often spoken to people who are absolutely sure they love themselves to the fullest. They indulge in good food, buy nice clothes, have holidays, spend money on their looks etc. But looking from the outside it is more than obvious they are often trying to mask how they really feel on the inside.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Writing a Self-Help Book
Self-help literature is becoming more and more popular nowadays. In almost every bookshelf (both actual and online), the self-help section is always packed with plenty of options for the readers. Self-help books, in general, are books that are written for the purpose of instructing and helping people in solving personal problems and achieving certain goals. They talk about a wide range of topics, and they are sometimes referred to as the literature for self-improvement.

You Can Stop Your People Pleasing Habit With One Physics-Based Mindset Shift
It’s incredible how much we can hold ourselves back just by considering how others might perceive us. Sometimes I still find myself imagining what I look like “from the outside.” Growing up, I had formed a habit of hosting a mean, judgmental audience in my mind.

To be Black, a Woman and Insecure
You’re not as pretty as you think.” “Your ass is way too small.” “You could never look like those other girls.” “I can’t believe you thought he’d actually like you” These are just some of the thoughts that go through my head on a daily basis, as I am constantly attacked by this bitch named insecurity. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself “why the hell am i so damn insecure?” Well, I ask myself that question a lot. However, I’ve learned insecurity, no matter how much money you have or how beautiful you are is someone that will always be on your shoulders and whispering in your ear.
