"Looking good" shouldn't always be rooted in conforming to beauty standards
Plenty of our social media platforms today have granted us easier accessibility to seek out what other people everywhere are doing and how they personally broadcast themselves to the rest of the world. Sometimes, however, it’s understandably exhausting scrolling through everyone’s Instagram or Facebook profiles and seeing how they appear to be both overwhelmingly physically attractive and financially well-off. It can leave us thinking, “Well gee! What am I not doing to get to that level in life? Why don’t I look like that? What ab exercises do they do so I can get mine to look like theirs?”. Thoughts like these are often rooted in some people not feeling good enough, thus feeling pressure to change their appearance in hopes to conform to expectations under the guise of ‘looking good’. But what exactly is ‘looking good’ anyway? That question may not seem tricky at all until we remember that the idea of looking good alone has many different definitions for everyone. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t universal standards set in place with historical context.

body art.
This is my tattoo. My first piece of body art. You see my tattoo, as probably a majority of everybody else’s tattoos, has very special meaning. As you see in the picture above my tattoo reads “fight the good fight.” This tattoo is based off of a verse that can be found in ancient book called The Bible.

Maleficent Tattoo
I am ugly. At least that is what my inner critic tells me as she rips my every fibers apart with her judgmental wrath, no inhibitions, no filtration or sugar coating to soften the sharp crisp unforgiving taste of self hatred and disgust. As a young girl learning her place in this world only thru the comparison of herself next to the role model images of what society expects her to become, i could only see the two pictures held up next to one another as a list of differences. She is slender. I am not. She is bronzed. I am not. Her lips are plumped to kissable perfection. Mine are thin, barely thick enough for birds to perch upon as a last resort, only to give their tired wings a rest.

Life Choices
I think when it comes to life and how each of us chooses our own path in life, that is where we are faced with the hardest challenges. Let it be a decision on what to wear, what to eat and who to date and many more countless things that we overthink about. We constantly overthink and worry about things that are outside of our control, but why do we do that? I think it is in our nature to worry and to think, to use your brain in one way or another, otherwise you feel useless and unwanted. But when it comes to worrying and overthinking, now that can have a negative impact on someone’s life. I used to deal with a lot of anxiety and stress from my everyday life routine, going to work, dealing with bills, some dating here and there and also just generally about my health and lifestyle. I felt like I was crumbling down, I have noticed my health was getting worse as I stressed too much, would wake up with a racing hearth beat and covered in sweat in the middle of the night, mind racing, the typical symptoms for panic and anxiety attacks. I used to think there was something seriously wrong with me and that I must be ill and it must be something serious, then I realized what the problem was. The stress, the overthinking, the anxiety all added to the whole experience of dealing with the attacks, I would freak myself out even more, start to get numb on the left side of my body, literally feeling as if I was having a stroke or a heart attack. Those few years were my lowest worst years that I can remember. But I realized that this isn’t something from an outside source, it is all coming from my own mind, I am making myself stress and anxious, and that I should stop making myself sick and worried about everything. It is wrong to worry about everything, you cannot control everything, you need to live in the moment, take each day as they come and never worry about what could be in the future, the future will always be in the future but you and your mind must remain in the present, and only try to think of things that you can actually control and might be able to change.

Freedom
Chains that bind us. It begins before birth. The umbilical cord, the one thing that binds us to another human, is the first chain. Throughout our years on this earthly plane, we are given many chains. Things that hold us down or back, things that restrain us or keep us under control, chains that stop us from moving completely or only allow us to move very little. Rules and laws set forth by others. Some are chains of choice, whereas others are forced upon us. When you think of chains you think iron or metal, sometimes even plastic but rarely do we ever acknowledge the mental chains. The ones that are seldom seen but always felt by the wearer. There are many tools to cut the physical ones but the mental chains are much stronger and more difficult to remove. Those are the ones that only we can cut loose from. A stranger could find you bound in physical chains, get a bolt cutter and release you, that same stranger could find you bound in mental chains and still help to release you but using a different method.

12 Dimensions of Wellness
About five years ago when I began pursuing my career as a life coach, I was introduced to the Wellness Wheel. I was already familiar with the seven dimensions which is emotional, intellectual, physical, social, environmental, financial, and spiritual. But the program I went through was about the 12 dimensions of wellness. This course changed my life and helped to shape my career path.

3 Witchy Power Tools For Muggles
It amuses me every time when I see a blog or a video talking about manifesting and personal development tools. Usually, they include things like watch what you focus on, commit to daily action, state your intention, be clear about what you want.
