Does Adversity Build Character?
But what about the notion that adversity builds character? How does that idea stand up under closer scrutiny? In an article in Inc. magazine, Jim Haudan calls adversity ‘the fuel of greatness.’ He goes on to say: ‘Adversity is one of the most powerful forces in life. It can bring out your best or your worst. Ultimately, it is up to you. Overcoming adversity is character building. It shapes us into who we are and who we will become. It creates the confidence to overcome and the learning mechanisms to deal with the things that don’t go our way.’

Why Seek Inspiration?
For anything excellent and great that you wish to accomplish in your life, there's one imperative requirement - inspiration. A great inspiration brings with it a wave of power that by itself may propel you over the finish line. Conversely when we're empty of inspiration, everything may appear hard, boring, and dull, and we acquire no joy out of what we're doing.

The power of positivity
The power of positivity The power of our minds is incredible. What we can do when we think a certain way is amazing. We’re all guilty of letting this get on top of us and letting negativity spread from one area of our life to another. It’s part of being human but bringing it to your attention means you can begin to work on it and not let it lead to eating you up.

It's Not Precious, You Just Hate Yourself
As an antique and vintage curator, I am often very angry at Facebook moms in my antique and vintage groups. It isn't always moms, but it's most often moms. Here's why: Facebook moms act like something having value means that it should never be touched or used ever. For example, the other night, a woman asked if she should let her three year old play with some collectible dolls. My beef isn't with this woman, my beef is with the woman who replied to her saying, "No, they're collectibles."

Imagination to Reality
When people say you can't use your imagination, what they really mean is that you can't think of it. It is true that imagination plays an important part in the process of creating art and other visual works. But if imagination is used to the point that it gets in the way of doing the work, then it is not being used. In other words, imagination is like a muscle. If you do not use it, then you cannot produce the results you are seeking.

Start Sacrificing To Succeed!
Sacrifice is defined as an act of giving up something valued, for the sake of obtaining something else regarded as more important or worthy. Irrespective of the definition, what does sacrifice actually mean to you personally? There are three specific examples, that come to mind, when I think of the those who are the epitome of sacrifice. Unfortunately, this particular platform prevents my full freedom of speech, so I cannot share two of those three examples, but the third of these three examples of sacrifice and bravery, we have witnessed in recent history, or are even witnessing as we speak. We can't go past thinking about those before us who sacrificed their lives, just to go to war, in a bid to protect their respective countries, and its citizens. Even today, our service men and women continue to place their lives at risk, in order to protect us and our borders, from those evil enough to be plotting war and terrorism. Now that takes absolute guts and pure selflessness to place your own life at risk in order to save others, and protect their way of life. Let's take a moment though, to look at the ordinary everyday common person, specifically those who live their own life in pure selfishness and disregard for others, taking for granted what our war veterans, our service men and women, fought for or are fighting for. We have selfless and brave individuals who are placing their life on the line, in order to protect our way of life and our freedom, so we can enjoy a future blessed with happiness, success, prosperity, and freedom, and yet here are the majority of us that aren't even prepared to make sacrifices of our own, to honor the bravery and commitment of these individuals. I'm talking about the fact so many of us can't even get off our bums and make sacrifices in life, even just to achieve our own goals. These type of sacrifices are in no comparison to the sacrifices committed by those on the frontline, as we are far from placing our life in grave danger.

Wild, Difficult, and Impossible
I was recently told that I was overwhelming and that I seriously needed to chill out. Before anyone starts getting fired up and start sharing words of encouragement in my defense (because you are all my people and you are the best!), this person wasn't wrong. Maybe they didn't need to say it the way they said it, and to be honest it was over text, so sometimes tones are hard to interpret, but they weren't wrong for sharing how they felt in terms of me and how I was treating them. I am the one who initiated the conversation and pressed for some type of response. Well, they gave me one! Ha!

Confidence Within ...
My Lessons for Practising Self-Confidence I would like to share my ‘go-to’ ways of giving myself a boost when I need it. They are short and sweet, and can be done anywhere. Try one per day for a week and notice how you feel at the end of the week. If you want to, you can note down your feelings in The Positivity Journal and keep going for a month, and then read over your notes, and see how your feelings and levels of confidence have changed. Even small differences are significant.

Your Life Is Full of Porn. Stop Getting Yourself Off.
Porn ruins lives. And you don’t need to be a porno star on viagra to witness its devastating effects. What is porn? Porn is what I call addictive habits. These habits are like porn because they start off as small and end up curtailing out of control if you let them.
