Being Confident in your own Body
Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever story. I wanted to start with a topic that has had an effect on me since I began my teenage years, CONFIDENCE. The first time I began to notice my body changing I was 9 years old. I started to develop quite quickly compare to my friends and I was really scare about that change. When I was just 9 years old I moved to Florida and that's when everything began to change for me, and not for the better. I started 5th grade not knowing any English, my native language is Spanish and it was already difficult enough to do homework because I didn't understand anything. I used to cry while doing my homework because I felt so stupid not knowing anything, at the time I thought that was going to be my only problem. Boy was I wrong. As the days progressed, my self-esteem began to decline, that wasn't even the worst part yet. I began to get bully on my second week of school, I remember it like it was yesterday, It was really traumatizing. Now, the bullying wasn't anything physical, it was emotionally, which I think is worst in my opinion, at least for me it was worst then any physical pain. This continued on till I finally started middle school. In 6th grade I met my best friend who I am so thankful for, we are still best friend till this day and I am 20 years old. During my middle school days everything was good, now fast forward to high school, freshman year. My body was bigger then ever, I have changed completely and not for the better, I gained a lot of weight. I kept seeing this other girls with bodies that were to die for, I wanted nothing more then to be like them. I began to try and eat healthy and exercise but it never worked, it was no use. I got so envy that I began to try and cut my stretchmarks out, yeah you read it right, CUT. Not the smartest idea if. I tried to try out for the track team, couldn't do it, I was too fa and too slow, so I gave up. I felt undesirable by the guys at school, I didn't have many friends, or any friends for that matter. The only friend that I had was my best friend, let's call her Mary. Now, at times I did envy my best friend because her body was amazing as well, I thought, how can a girl like her be friends with me.. Well, let me tell you why. It's because she saw who I was, truly, she saw me for me, not my appearance. It took me so long to figure that out, that if nobody saw me for me, for who I truly was then they were not worth it, they were not real friends. After I finally finished and graduated high school I began to see my self worth, to see who I truly was and who I wanted to be. All of those little incidents that happen to me weren't so little, they affected me so much emotionally, but because of that I finally learnt to love myself. I began to love my body, treat it like the temple it was and the temple it is now.

The Happiness Myth
What exactly is happiness? According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, it is “A state of well-being and contentment”. However, this is a vague and shallow description for something that consumes the lives of most people. No matter where you go, what you do, or who you talk to, you will inevitably reach the conclusion that all of humanity is searching for happiness. Some people look for it in a partner, others in their career, and still others unfortunately from addictive substances. After years of social and individual observations, I have come to see an awakening in the pursuit of a self-love movement. I have found that this has become a battle cry for people in vastly different life stages and it doesn’t seem to be dying down.

Against Myself
I could say things that sound really nice… About who I looked up to and why they inspired me… But most times I would find myself comparing who I am and how I saw others. I thought that I was missing something - that extra flare or skill, I felt that I couldn’t live up to the expectations of others around me… And so I didn’t really have women that I looked to that would inspire me to push beyond myself.

Inner Peace and Gratitude
What prevents you from feeling peaceful in your life? The anxiety and worry, the regret, the pain, and the longing for something you do not have all rob you of peace and happiness. All of these take a toll on your heart and your mind, leaving you with frustration instead of joy. Finding how to end these negative mindsets and feelings will help you find inner peace, and one path there is through gratitude.

“Everyone Should Love Themselves”
Upon encountering countless thoughts, Males And Females both pace through thoughts sometimes not at all to every single night. We’re all called horrible, Disgusting, Hateful names every day. We all sometimes know what it feels like to feel bad and yet we make others feel bad, We put others down for who they are and what they like and what they wear and what they do and how they act... We all recieved a body, Not one we got to create one we were given, Not by choice, By life. We all receive genuine glares of hate that could knock us off our feet in an instant and leave us hurting somewhere deeper inside. People would often disagree with the statement that self love means more than real love.. But when you take a good look at it, You cant truly love someone else until you learn to love yourself and that’s the truth. You can’t put love into someone else if you can’t gather up enough love to give to yourself. Self love is so very important and so many people would not agree with that, So many people would say loving someone else is more important. Every single day there are males and females wondering “Am I good enough”? “Is that person better than me?” All because we can’t know our true worth because other people decide “Hey! Let’s make a funny joke about that person!” And even when they think we can’t hear, We do. We always do... But come to think of it, When did other people’s opinions really matter? Why do we care all so much about what other people think? Is it because we can’t dig deep enough to pull out the truth, The truth that lies deep inside our brains but it’s buried too deep into a coffin somewhere way deep down.. But.. What if we could dig up the coffin... Take the time, To bring it out, And open it, Inside a true face of beauty.. Complete and utter beauty, Something that would leave us breathless and something we have never seen before! Where we would find a new part of ourselves, The part called self love where you don’t care what anybody thinks, You know you’re amazing, You know you’re incredible, You know you’re better than all of the hate, And most of all, You know you’re better than all the wannabes who told you down! You know that your worth is something you care about and that your worth is higher than someone’s opinion, So you put on a smile, You laugh with the crowds, You dress as you please, Wear makeup if you please, Show off as you please, Talk as you please, Make friends if you please, Wear a face of complete confidence, If you please. Do whatever makes YOU happy, Not what makes the crowd happy, The crowd doesn’t really matter, When you pass a crowd will you know anybody? Unless it’s your friend group but even then your friends should accept you for being yourself. People may think it’s important to take someone’s opinion over your own but in reality your opinion should matter the most to yourself. Take care of yourself, And know somewhere deep inside your beauty is hidden beneath, And it’s ready to come out whenever you’re ready to let it, Whenever you’re ready to find it within yourself to call yourself beautiful or handsome. Make sure you know your self worth, That you are the best you can be and even if you’re not the best that you can improve anytime you want.

Desperation to Inspiration
This story begins 50 years ago when I first met my inspiration but didn't know it at the time. She was fun, carefree, relaxed, friendly and loved the world. Her laugh and smile was infectious, she loved the stars, the moon and all things out of this world. And then we lost touch. I didn't see it coming, I got so caught up in life that I forgot about this peace loving carefree woman. I didn't even notice how much to this day she inspired me. I lost a lot when I lost touch with this beautiful woman. This is the story of how she turned my Desperation into Inspiration.

Whatever you do, don't follow your passion...
Passion is a funny word. It’s a word that has been used to describe intense love and sexual desire yet also your purpose and sole reason for being on this earth. Society and pop culture are obsessed with the idea of finding and following your passion. Pretty much every Disney movie and Netflix show is centered around the idea of finding and following your passion. Almost every fiction book follows a main character trying to find their one sole purpose in this world and every song from rap to pop is in one way or another about passion and purpose. I mean just look at these quotes from successful and famous people about passion.
