The Rarity of Snow
Tuesday morning I awoke to a blanket of snow. This was something very unexpected. Here in the UK when snow falls, it does not promise to stick. In the region I live in, the snow seemed to keep missing us over the last few months. So, when I saw that it was to snow, I ignored it. I went about my morning keeping the blinds down, ignoring the world outside. That was until I glanced out the bathroom window and saw the hazy gleam of white. I rushed to the spare room window and gazed intently out at the white expanse before me. The snow was here and it was falling thick and fast.

Introduction of ME
Welcome to my first post and story to introduce myself. I know boring right? I guess that will depend on your opinion of how you find me on first glance. My name is Camron and I have always dreamt of being a person who creates the ripples of change in the world. My aspirations of being involved with politics, theater, writing, and society have been a growing desire within the past two years after going through my first year of college. These two desires have brought me here to Vocal to create a starting point that I can jump from.

The Blindness of Self-Doubt
Student It’s around about that murky time after University. The bars are still open and the jaeger is still cheap but the atmosphere has changed. You still call yourself a graduate, it’s a title you hold on to tightly. However, no one seems to be answering your C.V. You watch as it ricochets back and forth through cyberspace to different graduate scheme websites. It’s in this time that you lose that certain sense of purpose. You’re sleepwalking while friends are flying. The regimented sense of certainty is lost as soon as you stumble up that stage and your clammy hands clutch that certificate. With a deep breath you realise that now you have a choice.

Sage Smudging 101
Sage is a sacred plant that was widely used among Indigenous Americans in spirit and energy practices over 2,000 years ago. I always heard of sage and its uses to clear out negative energies and set intentions for positives energies to flow into a space and after doing some research I decided to do a sage smudging of my own. From my research, I learned that the burning of the sage sticks and the smoke it creates acts as a vacuum to dispel and release negative energy from a home, office or intended creative space. I purchased my sage from The Phoenix and the Dragon bookstore here in Atlanta. The shop is a good resource for beginners and the employee who checked me out noted that after I burn the sage I should do something I enjoy because this invites in the positive energies I wanted to create. There are different types of sage and each is said to be used for different purposes and I chose the white sage. The most interesting fact I learned about sage smudging was from a Chopra.com article revealing that the goal of the ceremony is to clear the space of lingering energy that is "different from what you may be intending for that space." That confirmed that a sage smudging was a good way to kick off my new year and new outlook on how I will reach all my goals this year.

The Four Stages of My Interests
I have a lot of interests, most of them I do and most of them I would like to do. I have a huge passion for story writing and creating videos, but I didn't manage to go far with those passions. I have four stages when it comes to interests. Observe, experiment, practice, and act. It's an unconscious thing for me, but I was aware of the routine I have done every time I have an interest.

Too Old to Say Whatever, Too Young to Stay in One Place
Remember when you were 12 years old? Really think about it. 12 years old. The biggest stress day-to-day was hoping your crush with the J-Bieb haircut would pop up on your MSN and rushing home so you didn't miss your favourite rerun on Disney Channel. Remember those days? Where you didn't have to figure your life out because you had time. You knew your next step: high school and then university. Didn't know what you would study, just knew that you would. You thought that everything would fall exactly into place and by 22, you would be the successful adult fashionista you see in movies running the world.

Who I Really Am...
How do you know who are you are? I can tell you that I sure didn’t know until the beginning of this year. I am 22 years of age and I've always lived this life I was comfortable with. I did the same thing every weekend, with the same people, coming home at the same time and working the same job, which most women at my age did not do. I was comfortable. This wasn’t what I wanted my life to be. I always imagined traveling, taking risks, starting my own business, and meeting new people, but I only allowed myself to do what I was used to and didn’t know how to go about the things I wanted to do. In result of this, I was very stuck in my comfort zone and wasn’t able to bring myself to start what I really wanted.

The "Just Be" Campaign
As I kid I cried and pleaded to get certain things to fit in and my family refused. They wanted my brother and I to be "proper": we wore London Fog coats in the winter and catalogue garments all through the school year that no other kid was wearing because there was no way in hell we were going to run around looking like the hood-rat kids in our neighborhood.

Stop Procrastinating for Good
How many times have you told yourself you are going to do something and you always procrastinate, you never do it, time goes by, you have excuses. Mainly that is going to take a lot of time, effort and the usual “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Eventually, time goes by and when you look back, you realize you could have finished by now, or at least made some progress, but you are still in 0%, not even started. Does that sound familiar? 20% of the population identifies as chronic procrastinators. Don't be that statistic.

Don't Take It All on at Once...
Till recently, I had a particular habit that never seemed to change. I was stuck in a cycle that went between being completely unmotivated, and finding a sudden inspiration to do a complete overhaul of every aspect of my life. Out with the old, in with the new. My brain would fire off a million aspects of my life that needed a change, and needed it now.

Life Lessons Everyone Can Learn Through Baseball
Growing up, I spent more time on a baseball field than most girls. And because of this, baseball is still my favorite sport to this day. Maybe because it was my entire childhood and maybe because I learned so many important lessons from the game of baseball.
