My Cardboard Bank

Creativity of 10-year-old me!!

10 years old me thinking.. "why need to spend money for saving money"

When I was 10 years old, I save my pocket to buy a lot of chocolates, I love eating them and the rest of the money I save inside a matchbox.. but as I grow my savings increases so I have to buy a piggy bank for myself.

so I go to my nearest shop where my best friend buys the piggy bank and when I ask for the price, it cost 10$(700Rs) and all I have is 11$(770RS) I think I should buy that one because my friend bought it

but wait.. why need to spend money to save money?? I asked myself.

My creativity awakens, and then I think why not build my own piggy bank. feels right but looks too much hard building the shape of a pig is hard work, so did the smart work.

So I decided to make a box from my sister's mobile cardboard and store all my money into it. Sounds great!!

So, let's get to the work.

The things I needed are there in my cupboard,

Scissor.. check.

Transparent tape.. check.

Cardboard box.. check.

let's start making it..

I started by cutting the rough ends of cardboard with my scissors and then taping them from all over to make it fixed.. and when I'm doing it a major idea kicks in my mind.. guess what??

the idea is to cover my box all around with the coins of 1Rs this idea is in my mind and to put that into reality I need 74 coins.

Why 74 Coins only?? Look at calculations I did when I was 10 years old.

18x3 (top, bottom, inside)

3x2(side)

7x2(other's side)

total=74

Maths.. check.

when I was 10 years old, I got a D in my maths and My teacher makes fun of me but these calculations feel like I'm the real Archimedes (father of mathematics).

Go to hell!! (teacher)

but one problem arises. I only got cash not coin!!

I have only 30 coins so I started collecting them… some from mummy's pocket, some from papa's wallet, some from my sister's purse. I'm a good robber as well.

now I got 80 Coins in total.. so I saved 6 for buying chocolate candy and take what left for making my cardboard bank.. Exciting!!

I started making it (while eating my candy)..

and in an hour or so its structure is complete but I needed to cover all of it with coins and this feels tough.

arranging them in a row is very hard at first but when I started it seems easy and I finished it in 15 minutes or so..

all it left is the excess tap around the box that makes it a bit messy, so there my friend Scissor came in handy..

and now it looks perfect here are some photos of my cardboard box that you might like...

I really loved it and I remember I send these pictures to my friend to make him jealous that I haven't spend any money just for saving money.

Lessons I Learned from My Past Self.

1. Be Creative: Creativity is the best thing anyone can have that helps you find new ideas and also help you save money. Creativity is the thing that adds joy to your life and makes your present movement rememberable as your future self will write an article on the thing you did now!!

2. Find New Ways: My future self taught me a lesson that you should find a new way.. just remember the line "Why need to spend money to save money" and it'll help you to think about some new way that you can do for saving money, creating joy, etc.

3. Need First, Want last: A little boy knows that need of saving money can be achieved by just creating a cardboard box, you don't need a fancy wallet purse as you'll spend more money on buying the wallet rather than putting the money inside it. I follow these tricks before buying a branded thing, which ultimately saves a lot of my money.

so, here we are ending this beautiful remembering article. I just created it to tell you how important childhood and creativity are. I like to thank you for reading.

Thanks to the challenge which allow me to share my story with others.
