Auditioning
Let's talk about what the actor's real job is. If you think "acting" is the correct answer, I appreciate your enthusiasm! Auditioning is the actor's real job, the truth is unless you're Johnny Depp or Meryl Streep you're going to have to prove you deserve the job that the casting director, producer, and director are trying to fill. I know, I know it sucks and it can be so frustrating going to audition after audition and booking nothing. The truth is that their are millions of factors that go into casting a project, and although most of it is out of the actor's control I am here to give you a few tips and anecdotes that will hopefully help you feel more comfortable in your next audition!

Being Productive
Most times when we are feeling the least productive, it is because of the environment we surround ourselves with. So many distractions to tempt us, steering us away from what we actually need to do. Of course, there's things we want to do, but they're much more exciting than writing that essay or email, or getting all of your assignments done.

Writing While Sick, Depressed, Scared, And Other Deadly Sins
I write things. Obviously; you're reading this now. #Writing is my life. And my life is also made up of a veritable cornucopia of suck. Mostly in the form of chronic illnesses, pain, and a brain that would much rather do anything besides writing, including dying immediately. And I figure some of you might be in the same boat here, so let's talk about writing while... well, the title.

Deep Character Development: Be Your Own Biggest Fan
I get a lot of questions about writing: the process, fave/least fave parts, and the 'where do you get your ideas' question no writer I've met really knows how to answer. Most of all, people want to know how to write interesting, real-seeming characters. The answer is simple - and I bet you already do it.

The Writer's Life for Me
Every day I go to work. Every day after work, I come home and I write. What do I write? I work on my young adult novel and send it to publishers. I work on all 36 of my freelancing jobs in hopes that I can make at least $20 on them for the week. I work on the social media content for the Canadian firm that I work for. I work on graduate schoolwork. In a nutshell, I am always writing.

A Good Pen
The mental image is one we all know well: a writer, sitting in a study, surrounded by mounds of books and hastily scrawled upon pages tacked onto the walls, with perhaps a cat, coffee, or even an overflowing ashtray thrown in, bent over a notebook, hand jammed into thick hair.

Able
Have you thought about the power of the word ABLE? Able is a word we as individuals should consider daily. We are able to do many things throughout the day but we must choose. We all have the ability to perform certain task or activities but do we choose to? This is a mindset that we as individuals must adopt in our daily lives. As mentioned, choice gives us power of life or death. We can choose to live and be action-oriented or we can choose death, not being able to feel a level of satisfaction in our life. Therefore, we must be intentional about what we do and how we do it. Knowing that we are able to do something is the start of being intentional. What are those things you are able to do? What is holding you back? These are questions we need to constantly ask ourselves.
