Training in the EDBody Studio!!

👋🏾 it’s EDB, that’s Erik DeSean Barrett. It’s feels like day 1000, since we all witnessed the horrific events of a Monday night, in Cincinnati. We are still holding our breath, hoping Damar will eventually catch his.

We’re not the only one trying to catch our breath. Ol Kevin McCarthy, still swinging for the fences, hoping to garner the votes needed to secure the Speakership of the House. It’s sickening to think, not only will (Kevin) hold up the world, trying to gain the spot, but the Republicans will do same, trying to shut him down.

And in a sweet turn of events, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has happened. “The Donald” made a call, and the people, hung up on him. Some of us, never thought we’d see this day, but at the same time, wish it wasn’t today.

But there is Hope today; we however have to travel to Nairobi to get it. The year 2022, began with laughter when one discussed the conclusion of the world’s deadliest conflicts. That was then, this is now. And Now, just like the sun is trying to peake through the ash covered clouds, optimism is in the air.

In November, Two years to the month, after The Civil war erupted, Ethiopia’s northern region of Tigray agreed to a ceasefire. The effect of this conflict has cause a severe humanitarian crisis, with tens of thousands dead, millions in need of food, a gaping hole in the economy of Africa’s second-most populous country.

Here’s the Good News. The truce has enabled international aid deliveries to resume to parts of Tigray. Last week, state-owned Ethiopian Airlines resumed flights to Tigray’s capital. And the hope is, 2023 will be show the ceasefire reached in November can deliver lasting peace for northern Ethiopia.

Back to Washington, because good news does happen in that town. Let’s talk history. 234 years ago, a role, position, spot, known as president pro tempore was created. This person because the Third in the line of succession to the presidency of these states united. And up until now it’s been a sausage party.

Patty Murray. The senior United States senator from Washington, a seat she has held since 1993. Now serves as the new president pro tempore of the United States Senate

It sounds funny, doesn’t it? I’m the first? what happened for so many years? Nonetheless, I hope that my election to president pro tem is a message to young girls everywhere: Work hard, believe in yourself, don’t let anybody tell you you can’t do something, plow through, and you too can really make a difference, and should that horrible moment that no one ever wants to have happen, happen, I need to be ready for that. I’m trying to make sure I am up to speed on all domestic issues, international issues, making sure if that should happen, I could step in and the country can feel confident.”

Speaking of Confidence. Working Out During the Workday Is the Ultimate Power Move.. In theory, you have time for midday exercise. In reality, you may need a lofty title and political clout to get away with it.

Maybe your office building has a gym where you can squeeze in a few bicep curls on your lunch break. Or perhaps you’re still working from home and could go for a run between Zoom calls.

Working out in the middle of the workday makes perfect sense…in theory. In reality, a certain type of person has a distinct advantage in pulling it off routinely.

I’m the boss!

says Jessica Vibberts, founder and chief executive of Full Potential Ventures, a consulting firm for nonprofits. Ms. Vibberts, 45, often works early in the morning and late at night but breaks around midday for a barre class, Pilates, or high-intensity interval training.

Pausing work to exercise makes me a better leader by keeping my mind fresh.

Stepping away can even be difficult in the 9-to-5 window. A brief burn might be achievable, a few sit-ups here or kettlebell swings there. But the masters of full-blown workday workouts are those with on that FU status.

It gives me a level of comfort to know that I can be a little bit late or I can push a meeting, and no one’s going to be able to say much.

says Jim Webb, CEO of the Goodman Corp., a professional-services firm in Houston.

Daniel Carey, a top lobbyist at the American Optometric Association, says

My seniority and experience help me temporarily disconnect in the middle of the workday and not worry that i’ll miss something.

He works remotely from a 5-acre Kentucky property that is a fitness buff’s dream, with space for him to run with a weighted backpack, flip tractor tires, climb ropes and hoist barbells in a two-car garage that doubles as a home gym. You can call or email while he’s pumping iron, but he won’t answer.

I’m not checking my phone, I’ve got my music and for 30 or 45 minutes, I’m locked off.

And this brings me to my point. If it’s good enough for these high flaunted geezers, then pass the time down to everyone. Ya wanna talk about making the work day longer.

Give us 50 minutes for lunch. With 15 solid minutes dedicated to working out. Hey, I’ll bring the entertainment. I will make sure this podcast is available to go in everyone’s ear holes by high noon each and every day.

Whatcha say big shots? Ya down for the challenge?
