Albert Einstein was a German-born physicist who is widely considered one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century. Early Life and Education:

Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in the city of Ulm, in the Kingdom of Württemberg, which was part of the German Empire. His parents were Hermann Einstein, a salesman and engineer, and Pauline Koch, a homemaker. Einstein had one sister, Maja.

As a child, Einstein showed an early interest in mathematics and science. He was a slow learner and had difficulty with traditional schooling methods. In 1894, at the age of 15, Einstein applied for admission to the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, Switzerland. However, he failed the entrance exam, and his application was rejected. Einstein then attended a school in Aarau, Switzerland, where he excelled in mathematics and physics.

In 1896, Einstein enrolled at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, where he studied mathematics and physics. He graduated in 1900 with a degree in physics.

Early Career:

In 1909, Einstein left his job at the patent office to take a position as a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Zurich. He later worked at the University of Prague and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.

Theory of General Relativity:

In 1915, Einstein published his theory of general relativity, which is considered one of the most important scientific discoveries of the 20th century. General relativity is a theory of gravitation that explains the force of gravity as a result of the curvature of spacetime caused by the presence of massive objects.

Einstein's theory of general relativity revolutionized the field of physics and had profound implications for our understanding of the universe. It predicted the existence of black holes, the bending of light around massive objects, and the expansion of the universe.

Later Life and Legacy:

In 1933, Einstein emigrated to the United States to escape Nazi Germany. He took a position at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University, where he spent the rest of his career.
