Vance, and Zach Galifianakis, with original cast members Tia Carrere, Amy Hill, and Jason Scott Lee appearing in various supporting roles.

On the planet Turo, the United Galactic Federation learned that Drs. Jumba Jookiba is put on trial for illegal genetic testing, creating Experiment 626, a violent and near-destructive machine with profound learning capabilities. Jumba was convicted and imprisoned, while 626 people were sent into exile for his crimes. But 626 survived when they stole a police cruiser and used hyperdrive to planet Earth, landing on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i. Council leaders offer Jumba his freedom if he takes 626, in conjunction with an "international" expert representing Agent Pleakley. 626 crashed near the wedding and was hit by a tour bus before being taken to a zoo.

A Hawaiian girl named Lilo Pelekai was expelled from hula school for pushing Mertle, who was angry and disappointed that her sister Nani didn’t show up. The social worker, Mrs. Kekoa, visits and finds Nani unsuitable for their care, asking her to finish her work in a week.

The next day, when Tūtū’s neighbor heard that Lilo needed a friend, he took Lilo to a zoo where 626 individuals were kept. Realizing that Jumba and Pleakley were looking for him, 626 allowed Lilo, who thought he was a dog, to adopt him in order to protect him. Nani hired them and his friend David Kawena to work in a lodge in Lu'au. Lilo names 626 "Stitch" after Nani's words.[Clarification needed] She loves the amusement park, but Stitch accidentally sets the table on fire, causing Nani to leave.

Kekoa and Cobra Bubbles visit Nani, and CIA agents investigate Stitch’s arrival by posing as social workers. Kekoa told Nani to find a new job immediately. Though she was asked, she was turned down because of Lilo and Stitch's insults. Lilo helped Nani become known as a sailing instructor, and they enjoyed sailing after completing their first assignment. Meanwhile, Jumba and Pleakley unsuccessfully try to capture Stitch, the jet, causing Pelekais and Stitch to lose, nearly kills Lilo as Stitch goes down.

When Lilo recovered, Kekoa told Nani that the Hawaiian government could pay for Lilo’s health insurance in the event of her death, which she did not believe. After singing to the sisters last night, Stitch thought about his actions and respectfully returned to the zoo alone. Meanwhile, the high council, frustrated by their inability to capture Stitch Jumba, canceled their contract and ordered Pleakley to return Jumba to prison. However, Jumba decides to arrest Stitch while Pleakley is away.

Kekoa and Bubbles arrive the next morning to find Lilo has escaped from her room. He and Nani started looking for him. Lilo finds Stitch in a safe spot, but Jumba arrives to bring Stitch back. They fled to Pelekais' home and attacked Jumba, destroying their house. During the fight, Jumba reveals that Stitch used Lilo to protect him, causing Stitch to have the case expunged.

Jumba lifts Stitch onto his ship and uses a portal gun, intent on destroying the sympathy Stitch received. However, Lilo gets out of the boat, frees Stitch, and throws Jumba onto the boat. The ship crashes into the sea, trapping Lilo and Stitch underwater. Stitch saved him but he couldn’t swim to the surface. He untied it to evacuate it.

Nani and David save Lilo, but she refuses to let go of Stitch. David brings Lilo back to shore while Nani swims back to retrieve Stitch from the bottom of the ocean. They make it to shore, but Stitch isn’t breathing. Nani, David, Tūtu, Bubbles, and Pleakley (who Bubbles found) replace Stitch by starting his lungs. Soon, the Grand Councilwoman arrived. After witnessing Stitch’s transformation, he captures Jumba and decides to let Stitch go live on Earth with his new ‘ohana’.

As the Pelekais, Stitch, David, Tūtū, Bubbles, and Pleakley return, Kekoa tells Nani that she can give David and Tūtū custody of Lilo, allowing her to stay home. 'Ohana also builds houses and they live together well. Nani, now attending the University of California, San Diego to study marine biology, visits Lilo and Stitch back on Kaua'i, using Jumba's Portal Gun.

This new Lilo & Stitch film sounds interesting. I'm curious how they'll update the story. It's cool they're bringing back some original cast. I wonder if the new elements will make it feel fresh or if it'll just be a carbon copy. Can't wait to see how they handle the plot on Earth this time around.
