The Stranger Guest
I felt something strange in the room, so I got up and looked around. Then, in one corner, I saw something moving rapidly.

This incident happened a few months ago, but it became extremely memorable for me because it was not only unforgettable but also quite mysterious and interesting.
My BA exams were approaching when, just a few days before them, my health suddenly deteriorated. For several days, I could barely move from my bed. The weakness was so intense that whenever I tried to stand up, my head would start spinning, forcing me to lie down again.
Because of this, my studies were badly affected. After taking medicines for several days as advised by the doctor, I felt some improvement, but an entire week had already been wasted, and the weakness still lingered. One week before the exams, my mother strictly instructed me to drink a glass of milk every night before sleeping and not to study late at night. She told me to wake up early in the morning and study then.
Every night after boiling the milk, my mother would leave the milk pot in my room so that once it cooled down slightly, I could pour a glass for myself and then put the remaining milk in the fridge. I followed this routine.
Two days later, after finishing my studies, I got up, poured milk from the pot into a glass, drank it, and then lay down again, thinking I would put the milk in the fridge after it cooled further. At some point, I fell into a deep sleep.
I don’t know which part of the night it was when I suddenly woke up to the sound of utensils falling. I sensed something unusual in the room and got up, scanning all around. Then I saw something moving quickly in one direction, and at that sight, fear gripped me completely.
A small object was bouncing rapidly across the floor, and because of its movement, the sound of utensils falling was echoing. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I could see more clearly. When I focused carefully, I realized that a black-colored object was jumping up and down with the milk pot, almost like a ball, creating those loud noises. Still, I couldn’t understand what it actually was.
Perhaps the black object sensed my presence because it started jumping even more violently.
Although I was extremely frightened, I neither screamed nor tried to run out of the room. Gathering courage, I stood up and switched on the light. The scene was now clear. I looked closely at the pot—and involuntarily exclaimed, “Oh!
A black cat was sitting there with its head stuck inside the milk pot. Since its head was tightly trapped in the narrow opening, it was wildly jumping in frustration. Its frantic running around the room created a strange scene, and I didn’t know what to do—whether to help the cat or try to catch it. The cat was so agitated that catching it was impossible.
Hearing the noises from my room, my mother and brother rushed in. Now all of us were witnessing the same scene I had been watching for several minutes. None of us could immediately figure out a solution.
Then nature solved the problem itself.
While running, the cat suddenly hit the wall and forcefully shook its head. Instantly, its head came out of the pot. For a moment, the cat froze, as if it too was surprised by what had happened. Then, to our astonishment, it ran toward the cooler installed in my room. In its haste, it got tangled in the hardboard fixed above the cooler and had to turn back.
Now the cat looked even more aggressive. Growling, it ran around the room, unable to find a way out. Eventually, it ran out of my room toward the TV lounge. My brother quickly stepped forward and opened the door leading outside. The cat immediately rushed out and disappeared.
Thus, the incident came to an end.
Later, we discussed how the whole thing had happened. Through our collective investigation, we concluded that sometime during the night, the cat had entered my room through the cooler. Attracted by the smell of milk, it had pushed its head deep into the pot to drink the little milk left inside—and what followed has already been described above.
