This is a story that happened in the mid-eighties just after I left school. I was biding my time, waiting for my call-up into the South African Defense Force in July of that year. I had found myself a part-time job in the city centre, and had to commute back and forth by bus from Van der Bijl Square, Johannesburg’s main bus depot.
