Lullaby for Lilly
You know when people stop smoking and then they turn on all the smokers with religious like zeal? That was Kimberly, she was a people pleaser turned borderline sociopath, she knew it and she didn’t care, in fact she preferred it. She had seen bad things happen to good people and she wasn’t having any of it. She had given and given to a whole entourage of takers which had left her feeling angry, confused and sure of only one thing; this was never going to happen to her again.

The Morocotas Coins
Valeria woke up shaking in the middle of the night. Even though it was a hot, humid night she felt a cold air wrap itself around her like an ice blanket. She ran past her grandfather’s room straight into her mother’s room and hurled herself into her bed. She curled into the fetal position and pushed against her mother’s abdomen so hard, that her mother complained.

You're such a typical....
Aries are loud, proud, strong and brave on the one hand, but needy, demanding and emotional on the other! They command your full attention in exchange for total loyalty but get easily bored and restless. They like winning, leading and being challenged. Capable of great passion and strength like the symbol of the Ram, charging in, head down and horns out to push their way into the fray.

A Peaceful Day
It was a peaceful day today. The sky washed itself in that trademarked blue that you imagined as a child when looking for the matching crayon. The sun above me was a yellow and orange flaming eye staring down, piercing my skin. The birds sang songs that could possibly make statues cry. I drove home with my arm feeling the cool breeze outside my sedan’s window. I simply had no words and dully had no thoughts. I only had this black bumpy road in front of me and whatever my senses as an animal could take.

The Town Diary
I slipped through the glass door that separated the ice caked pavement from the warm, steamy interior of my favorite coffee shop. The spacious floor and mouthwatering aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries provided a colorful change of pace from my cramped, musty apartment. Already, I felt better situated for the work ahead.

Let's Do Lunch!
"Hey, I'm on my way to court". "Good luck", Rhonda laughs. "I can't believe you pushed the matter this far over $60." "I'm no quitter. Today these people will learn who I am. I have a feeling they expect me not to show up. Anyway, I'll call everyone later."

“She” for Her
I despised myself and all the poor choices I had made in my life that now left with me only one option. She was the last thing I had left to remind me of home and my parents. I needed the money and my time was up. It turned out that $20,000 was the price to sell my soul and I needed every penny if I had any hope at redemption.

The Little Black Book
The sun had long left the storefront window as a soft breeze wafted through the open flower shop door. She stretched one final time before completing the last minute wedding order. She went over her Saturday checklist, noting delivery would be early. Turning off the lights, she laid her coat and purse over her arm, closed the door. As she walked the short distance to the bus stop to take her ritual Friday night trip to her mother’s house. Noticing the lamp over the bus stop was out caused her no fear in this neighborhoo, and her familiarity with the schedule knew the bus would arrive shortly.
