Body Mapping 3 Major Life Events to Spiritual Awakening
Self-interpreted occurrences and decoded numbers define my path as a lightworker

My entry in this challenge details 3 major life events, incorporating body mapping and decoded repeating numbers, linked to personal spiritual awakening. Divine guidance and self-interpreted occurrences highlight my soul plan and life purpose as a lightworker. To understand is to read with an open mind.
If someone had told me ten years ago that a freak accident was a sign to alter my life path, I would have clicked my tongue and shrugged it off with stubbornness. True to my Scorpio nature and all too often hard-headed approach, I would have argued otherwise, claiming incidental occurrences, never coincidental. I don't believe in coincidence- never have.
Perhaps if I had altered my route, I would have avoided subsequent hardships. Perhaps not. I prefer to think that every instance has built a set of keys, spiritual ones, unlocking the doors to my divine purpose.
As I write, I am recovering from medial meniscus arthroscopy surgery performed on Tuesday. I waited 8 months for this procedure after a workplace accident in February when I was employed as a Marriott Operations Manager. After much pain and suffering from a grade 3 tear, I not only resigned from an industry I dedicated two decades to, but I have finally awoken to my spiritual calling, embracing my path as a lightworker.
This path has been an ongoing journey, however, so I must go back 10 years to the beginning.
3 Major Life Events Linking to Spiritual Awakening
Life Event 1: Pitbull attack
On January 2, 2015, I was attacked by my downstairs neighbor and my best friend at the time's pitbull. Rudolph, a 90-pound red-nose Pitbull, mauled me while in our back yard. It was early morning. I was still in my pajamas. I volunteered to care for Rudolph while my friend was away. I knew he had behavioral issues as a rehomed dog from a previous abusive owner, but we had a strong bond. Having a background in animal care was an additional asset; I had no worries whatsoever.
Without warning, however, Rudolph flipped, and I endured 16 bites to my legs, with the most prominent damage to my upper left leg. Luckily, we were near the back door threshold, and I was able to force him into the house. My little 115-pound body against a 90-pound dog. Without a doubt, quick thinking and adrenaline saved me from an alternative I can only imagine.
On January 3, I was supposed to begin my new job as a Marriott inspector; it never happened. I was out of work for 6 months, healing from my wounds. It took me a month before I could walk like myself again, and I ended up with minor nerve damage to my left leg.
Back then, this incident felt merely like a freak accident. Physical healing was foremost on my mind, so I could return to work.
Life Event 2: Splenectomy
On February 3, 2020, I had a splenectomy, just weeks before COVID-19 hit our nation. In mid-January, sudden pain in my left side prompted an ER visit. After multiple tests, including a bone marrow biopsy, a splenectomy was performed, resolving a rare benign tumor condition called Littoral Cell Angioma.
At that time, I worked as an innkeeper, a step down from a management role, and a job I had held since June 2015, when I returned to work after my pitbull attack.
This out-of-nowhere occurrence gave me my newly found status as an immunocompromised individual living without a spleen. It also took me out of the workforce for almost two years, forcing me to live in isolation while COVID took its toll on our country.
A new path begins
Living in isolation began to open my eyes during deep reflection. I discovered Vocal Media then and rekindled my love for writing. One of my earliest Vocal stories, Life After a Splenectomy, detailed numbers, specifically 5.
Back then, I wrote about the 5 surgical scars on my abdomen.
The number 5 means change, life lessons learned from experience, adaptability, progress, release and surrender, health and healing. This puts a smile on my face as I wake to each new day. My Sequential Five, my 5 scars, my personal inhale/exhale.
Looking back on that story, I remain true to my previous thoughts. But with time, more epiphanies have unfolded.
Although life event #2 prompted my spiritual journey, which involved writing, learning Reiki, and becoming attuned with my higher self, it wouldn't be until the next major life experience that I would finally uncover more hidden intricacies, ones hidden in plain sight.
Life Event 3: Medial Meniscus Tear With Flipped Fragment
On February 16, 2025, I injured my knee while running up stairs at work to inspect rooms. It was a busy Sunday. I was the only manager on the property, wearing many hats. I have always been in good shape; it didn't matter. My foot landed wrong, and pop- went my knee.
I have been out of work for 8 months, and on Tuesday, October 28, I finally had my surgery.
This 3rd event woke me up, but not from a simple nap, from the deepest of sleep. Spiritually speaking, of course, but my human-wired brain overlooked the signs surrounding me.
It started with a realization: each major event correlated to a left-sided body placement. This notion prompted further study.
Body Mapping & Decoded Numbers

Body mapping is an arts-based activity that helps individuals reflect on and gain a deeper understanding of past and present difficulties. Sketched or collage body maps provide a visual aid of life experiences, which help build a narrative between life lived and its impact on the artist. Also known as expressive arts therapy, body mapping is categorized under somatic therapy, a holistic ideology that connects mind and body, utilizing psychotherapy and physical therapy.
My body mapping activity was visual, connecting 3 major life events to bodily placement.
- Pitbull attack
- Splenectomy
- Medial meniscus tear
All of the above were left-sided focused, so I had to learn more.
Spiritually, the left side of the body relates to yin energy (feminine) and represents intuition, emotions, and the ability to receive love, nourishment, and support.
Whether man or woman, the left side of the body signifies the ability to ask for help, to surrender, wisdom, caring for self and others, embracing creativity, artistic expression, and personal feelings about other female energy(s) in one's life.
Conflicted areas in any of the above tend to manifest physically on the left side of a person's body.
Personal observations:
- I've always struggled to ask for help.
- Creative expression and artistic pursuits were suppressed earlier in life due to familial opposition
- Ongoing conflicts with feminine energy (family-specific-mother & idealized role in society)
It wasn't long before my body mapping visualization circled back to numbers, specifically the above-mentioned number 5. A heavy-duty sit with it moment felt like I was unravelling a knotted ball of yarn, one that I had been keeping balled up and pushed aside for so long, disregarding one simple task: Pull the string without prejudice.
So I did.
Preconceptions aside, I yanked at the ball of yarn with all my might, unlocking repeating numbers that had been with me all along, guiding me, vying for my attention, but my programmed human-wired brain had failed to notice. Although hints handed to me while recovering from my splenectomy made some headway, giving me nudges, I did not implement strategies for change; I went back to the same old way of living once duty called, and a return to work took me back to the hospitality industry.
Decoded repeating numbers

5- Not only was this body specific to my surgical scars, but it was a pattern. Every 5 years since 2015, a major life event has occurred.
2015- Pitbull attack
2020- Splenectomy
2025- Medial meniscus tear
Number specifics:
Spiritually, 5 speaks to major life changes, emphasizing overall well-being with a call for healthy lifestyle choices that will enhance and benefit one's life on all levels. Furthermore, 5 encourages making positive choices that align with one's truest heart's desire, a desire often aligned directly with one's soul purpose.
Meditative moments revealed a truth that wasn't as much profound as it was familiar: I had tired of my profession much sooner than I cared to admit.
- Overworked and underpaid
- Personally implemented changes were always overridden by corporate
- Too many divided responsibilities meant scattered energy
I loved providing enjoyable accommodations for travelers and working with my employees. I was dedicated to making the necessary changes in the housekeeping department, which desperately needed restructuring with a focus more on the employees' best interests as opposed to the typical corporate-minded structure of time and money.
The problem was that I was one person against many who cared more about number-focused results than employee welfare. Ridiculous time allocations for turning over rooms would never equal ideal quality standards. Instead, the mentality was that 24 minutes to turn over an inspection-approved, ready-to-rent room was adequate.
Truth Time
Sitting with this pattern of 5, really sitting with it, revealed my truth: professionally, I had been fighting a losing battle for a long time, and I was tired. Over it, done, finito!
Apparently, change had been chasing me down for a decade.
3- The number of major life events was one I could no longer ignore.
Number specifics:
The angels and Ascended Masters are asking for one's attention. The number 3 speaks to following one's intuition and inner wisdom to take appropriate action, using creative abilities/skills to enhance one's life and the lives of others. Furthermore, 3 signifies that one's prayers have been heard and are divinely supported, and one should proceed with joy, optimism, and spontaneity.
Personally, the joy of my career had long been gone. Writing, uplifting people through words, made me happy. It felt healing, reciprocal healing, and aligned with my soul's true calling.
53- Takes me to the repetitive appearance of this number in my dreams since February of this year.
Number specifics:
Spiritually, 53 speaks to changes that are occurring now or about to happen. These changes are a direct result of one's intention to better their life. The angels and Ascended Masters are by one's side, supporting them through the transition with a message of hope during challenging emotions: BETTER IS ON THE WAY!
53 just so happens to be my age- 11/08/1971.
53 reduces to 8, which is the number of karma (universal spiritual law of cause and effect), and speaks to stepping into one's personal power, having faith in one's skills and talents, and using them while remaining grateful for current blessings and ones yet to come. Number 8 also signifies that abundance is on its way as a result of hard work while maintaining a positive mindset.
54- Another number often frequenting my dreams
Spiritually, 54 speaks to one's desires, ideas, and thoughts, which indicate prioritizing one's life. Change associated with 5, combined with the Archangel-specific 4, foretells alignment with one's life purpose and soul mission, and future opportunities for growth on all levels- physical, spiritual, and emotional. Angels galore surround one with the presence of 54.
54 reduces to 9, which is the number of the lightworker. Serving humanity and universal love breathe 9 energy, calling for empathy, a higher consciousness, and leading by being a positive example. An inner call to uplift the human race via creativity, wisdom, compassion, and understanding, 9 highlights a natural lightworker's pathway, and an indicator of spiritual awakening.
10 and my pathway forward
Closing out this piece is difficult, as I have much more to say. A 2500-word limit means highlighting personally relevant specifics so the reader can grasp my concepts, hopefully with some level of resonance.
Meditative moments revealed more intricate messages:
5 and 3, also my age, relate to 8, a gate, a portal, to 54, my soon-to-be age, also 9. A cycle ends with a lightworker's call to duty. 11/08/2025 ( 11+ 8+ 2+0+2+5 = 28 & reduces to 10). New directions, self-leadership, and assertiveness vibrate in number 10, which also reduces to 1. Everything was leading up to this moment.
Confusing?
Perhaps initially, but the details lie in the repetition, not coincidental, yet instrumental.
Forward movement on my higher calling and path as a lightworker requires an understanding of self, so I can serve others better. Uplifting humanity through creativity marks the passion of a healer, and the healing is reciprocal. Am I completely healed? No. This process is ongoing. The difference between the present me and the one before, the one who meandered for years, is that I finally comprehend the dynamics.
The details were always in the design.
Self-acceptance, evolving concepts, and doing the heavy work mark my spiritual growth, but are not limited to me; they are the foundations of a doorway, a threshold I stand at with open arms, warmly inviting others to take that vital, yet all too often challenging, first step.
Body mapping and repeating numbers inspired by 3 major life events are personal examples of spiritual awakening, and spiritual awakening has called the lightworker in me to duty.
I don't expect everyone to understand or agree with my beliefs, but maybe the skeptic will become curious and test the waters, or the inquisitive will do a personal deep dive and find an aha moment. Sometimes our human lives and all of our complex experiences become much like the yarn I mentioned above: knotted, tangled, and balled up in a corner.
And sometimes unravelling it all is as simple as pulling the string, pulling it without prejudice.
~~~
Closing the challenge, I invite the reader to take a closer look at their life.
- Do you notice a string of unfortunate circumstances that feel orchestrated by much more than human capabilities?
- Do you often find physical symptoms, mishaps, or illnesses that just so happen to pop up at the most inconvenient times?
- Do you encounter repeating numbers in dreams or in physical reality that seem to follow you wherever you go?
If so, dive deeper. Explore.
Also, give gut feelings a second look. This is spirit's way of communicating.
Spiritual evolution calls all souls, and the map is readily available. While the directions are often coded in scattered puzzle pieces, gathering the sections and putting them together creates a picture of the higher version of self, the one the human mind forgets.
Pull the string, spirit remembers, even if you don't.
This piece of writing could be two or three chapters for your autobiography if you wanted to write yours to teach us all your skills. Good job.
Omggg, 16 bites!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Did you neighbour and friend give you any sort of compensation? Also, I love how these numbers play into your life. It's sk fascinating! I don't think there are any recurring numbers for me, but maybe I've not been paying attention. Also, I had no idea that 8 is the number of karma!
Wow, this is a truly powerful and thought-provoking piece. It took so much courage to share these deep personal experiences and connect them to your spiritual journey. I hope your recovery from surgery continues to go smoothly as you step fully onto this new path. Great work!
The way you structure your thoughts feels effortless. That’s talent.
I wanted to highlight this entire essay. Surviving that pitbull attack - the world wasn’t finished with you yet, thank goodness. So, 5 is your number. I have no idea what mine is, if I had to pull a number out that’s been in my life lately, it’s 20.
