The Honeymoon
What if your spouse cheated on you on the day of your honeymoon?

---
Janet waited for hours in bed, wearing lingerie that she had secretly bought to surprise her husband. He told her he loved her in red, and she thought it would be lovely to give him a 'special night.'
She called room service to have the employees bring in a glass of red wine and a little bit of dessert to get them in the mood. Janet was not expecting to wait for two whole hours, wondering where the hell her husband was. He had promised her that he would be gone for a short while, going for a walk to get rid of his stress with his new job.
Her husband's income had become a wonderful dream for them both, but a public relations job was beyond stressful, and they had gotten into a fight over it one time, just two days before their honeymoon.
The argument had started in the kitchen, and she wanted to know why Jack was now spending longer days at his office. She was only curious; she never wanted to start a fight, but the reaction of her husband resulted in one.
"Why are you asking me this? I told you, things are pretty tough right now, and they need me there during the weekdays."
"I don't understand why you're getting mad about this, Jack. It's not strange for his wife to want to know what her hard-working husband is doing at work."
Jack scoffed. "I'm busy, doing shit for my boss. Is that what you want to hear? She likes to overwork everybody to make sure everything is done in her own image."
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize -''
"Yeah, you don't know. Of course you don't know. You're just the stay at home wife while I am the one who brings in the money for us both."
Janet tried her hardest not to cry as Jack left her in the kitchen. It was the most hurtful thing he had ever told her during their years together as a couple, but at least he apologized right after. When she waited on purpose to crawl back into bed out of anger, he had wrapped his arms around her, and murmured a soft apology in her ear.
No one was perfect, and despite how pissed she was at him during that evening, she was grateful he made it up to her during their honeymoon.
Until right now.
She had called him multiple times, but she never got anything from him. She rolled her eyes, and hurriedly put on clothes. It was typical of him to do this. He was one of the few people on Earth who did not like to use his phone. It was a miracle that he even made it this far in life.
She walked toward the elevator, and headed downstairs. When the elevator doors opened, Janet pulled out her phone again, hoping to get at least a text from him this time around. She headed to the lobby, and was about to ask the lady at the desk if she had seen Jack, but his familiar laughter echoed from the bar of the hotel.
The laugh was quite loud, and Janet found it adorable. It was one of the few things that she loved about him. She took a peek in the bar area, and almost dropped her phone. He was talking to a woman. He was sitting at the bar, and the woman was sitting next to him. The way they were both interacting, their bodies in a certain position, told her everything.
And they were holding hands.
The woman spoke, and Janet thought her heart would stop right there.
It was his boss. She knew that voice anywhere. He spoke to her on the phone whenever she needed something done. Perhaps their talks were a way to cover up their affair. Janet put a hand over her mouth, and ran back to the elevator. She went back to her hotel room, and started to pack up her things. Janet was going to leave, and not care about the consequences.
She had been played for a fool, by the man she had loved. And the worst part, was knowing why he had been spending so much time at the office. Jack had indeed been doing extra work. With his boss. The tears spilled over, and Janet sobbed into her hands.
Janet heard a knock at the door.
"GO AWAY! GO AWAY, YOU PISS OF SHIT! HOW COULD YOU -''
"Housekeeping?"
Janet froze, her face becoming a bright red. "Oh god."
She ran to the door, quickly wiped away her tears, and opened the door slowly. A man was standing there, wearing a white suit. He was quite handsome, his long blonde hair slicked back. Janet was taken aback by his attire; it was unlike anything she had seen a janitor wear in a hotel.
The man offered a shy smile.
"Sorry. I thought you would open the door if I said housekeeping. I lied, because I saw the way you were running to your room. I got worried, and I had to come check in on you."
Janet laughed, making a sound in the back of her throat that was not natural.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I came over to apologize…Oh god. I can't believe…"
The man's face expressed concern. "Are you alright?"
Janet scrubbed at her eyes. "My husband cheated on me."
"Oh. God, I'm sorry."
Janet rolled her eyes. "If you think that's bad, it turns out he's been lying to me about staying for long hours at his job. He's been sleeping with his own boss."
The man blinked. "Oh…Jesus…that's bad. I'm so sorry. God…that is so evil."
Janet shrugged. "That's a good way of putting it."
"I think you should leave. That would be a neat revenge. Picture the look on his face when he realizes you left without him."
Janet giggled without a single trace of humor. "That's what I'm doing right now. I'm packing my shit, and I'm out of here."
The man nodded. "Good. Um…as weird as this sounds, do you need any help?"
Janet waved a hand. "No thank you. Thanks for the offer. And for listening."
The man winked. "No problem."
Janet closed the door, and finished packing. For some reason, she felt a sort of weight lift off her shoulders. Perhaps talking to the handsome stranger helped her in some way. She left the hotel room, and she was slightly disappointed to see that the stranger was gone.
She sort of wished she could have kissed him on the lips, as a thank you for being there for her. She didn't want to start a romance with him, she was done with that for now, but she wanted to muster her own thanks in any way she could. Janet took another quick peek, but she saw no sign of him.
She took the elevator again, and headed straight out the doors. She could hear her husband laughing again in the bar, and she knew what she was going to do once she got home. She would sell the ring he gave her, as a great big fuck you to ending their marriage.
She erupted into hysterical laughter as she got into a taxi and left the hotel. Janet felt absolutely fantastic, and she hoped this good feeling would never end.
---
The man made sure that Janet did leave the hotel. He watched her get into a taxi, and he placed a phone call.
"She left. Tell the others it's time to have some fun."
The voice on the end answered a reply. The man smiled, and he walked upstairs to wait for the husband and his boss to head back to their own hotel room. The man followed them the whole time. No one noticed him. No one ever noticed him. Only if he allowed it.
The man watched as the couple walked into a hotel room. He saw the others spying on them too. He gave the signal, and all five of them broke into the hotel room. The husband and the boss were both panicking, and the man smiled when two of his men grabbed the tongues of both of them, threatening to rip that piece of flesh out if they continued their antics.
The man stood in front of the couple, a big grin on his face. Only the people who were punished got to see that grin.
"So, we need to talk about a couple of things. If you don't listen to me, my men here will torture you. No one will save you. Do you understand me?"
The husband and the boss both nodded, their faces grimacing from the uncomfortableness of two strangers holding tightly onto their tongues.
"Good. Now, let's begin."
---
After they were done with their talk, the husband and the boss both suffered consequences. The boss resigned from her job, and gave out a statement of why she quit, admitting she was sleeping with one of her employees.
The company was in shock with this admission, and then one of her employees named Jack Anderson revealed himself to being the one she slept with.
Jack and his boss both left the company in pure humiliation, but they had to do it in exactly that way. Or they would have been found in pieces.
Jack and his boss tried to work their relationship out, but once they realized it was all about the thrill of not getting caught, they ended things. The fact that Jack did not care said it all.
Jack then had to divorce his wife, and he handed everything over to her, including the house. Once everything was done with the divorce proceedings, Jack got into his car to drive somewhere and get completely wasted.
When he arrived at the bar, he almost screamed in front of everyone. The five men who threatened him and his boss were all sitting at a table, all staring at him.
The blonde man lifted up his drink, toasting to Jack, a big grin on his face.
