Lily's Demons
“The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window.” The old mansion across our house had laid bare for almost 30 years now or so my family says. The land was filled with overgrown weeds with dust and cobwebs forming a thin layer covering the whole building. I remember the family that lived there, a cute couple and their little daughter, Lily. She had blue eyes and red hair, the type of red that made other kids call her ginger, but I didn't see her that way, I liked her. She was five, and I was a year older than her. We hung out with other kids our age and whenever we play house she would always be my wife. She had the most beautiful smile and an astonishing way with words, I admired her. She would tell us the most wonderful stories and the scariest ones too. One of them was called the haunting of Lakewood; she always started that one with her eyes open wide as she begins to tell the story, “There was a cabin in the woods, it had been abandoned for years, but one night a candle burned in the window….” She was only five but when she spoke we all listened. Until one day we heard she died in her sleep. I asked mom what had happened, but mom said she was gravely ill. I remember her parents moving out a month after her death, that was when rumors started to spread that the girl saw ghosts and that must've killed her, also that was the reason her parents left because that house was haunted. As people carried on with these beliefs, it didn't take time for bad things to start happening in our little town. Another kid died a few blocks away from mine, and another, and another. The deaths had the same pattern, they all had died in their sleep. Parents began to take their kids away in fear that they might just be next. And that was how we all left Havenston.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Movie Review
A Nightmare on Elm Street is a horror movie released in 1984. A classic horror movie with horror icon star, Robert Englund, as the icon Freddy Krueger. We have all heard the nursery rhyme “1,2 Freddy is coming for you…” as kids. The nursery rhyme may have been heard in a YouTube video. In a way a lot of people have heard the nursery rhyme. It came from this hit movie. A Nightmare on Elm Street is about Nancy, Tina, Rod, and Glen all having similar dreams of a burnt-faced man wearing a red and green sweater. On one of his hands he wears a glove with finger blade knives. He comes after them in their dreams, but once Tina is the first to die everyone starts to die one by one leaving Nancy as our final girl.

Rattles
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. It was not the first time this cabin had been occupied. Those passing through the area, vagrants, cowboys, or traveler would see this cabin, unoccupied and structurally sound, and occupy it for a night out of the elements. No one would blame them, but no one stopped them either, which was a shame from time to time.

The Legend of Hatchet Jack
355 Hahn Drive was once a lovely home, with a happy family that thrived. Sherman Richardson, his wife, Victoria, and his son, Sherman Jr, affectionately known as “Jack”. Sherman doted on his family, taking care of every need and desire of his wife and son; building a play fort with a swing set for his son, buying his wife’s favorite blackberry pie on his way home from work, telling them romantic bedtime tales by the fire each night. Jack looked up to his father as the perfect image of a man, and Victoria encouraged him to follow in his father’s footsteps. The family was everything that the neighbors wished they could be. Each morning, Victoria cooked breakfast in time for Sherman to go to work, then she walked Jack to school. While Sherman was at work, Victoria did the laundry, then invited over a few friends for a cup of tea and a game of cribbage. Sherman picked up Jack on the way home from school, and Victoria had dinner ready by the time they got home. While they didn’t flaunt wealth, they lived quite comfortably, never seeming to scrape by like their peers. And of course, the family never missed a single church service.

Blood Diner
Some sage comic of the stand-up variety once observed that, if you slightly rearranged the letters in the title of the execrable Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty film Ishtar, you got the word "Shitar". Which sounds just as bad. I suppose you could pronounce it exactly as it is spelled, and it would sound like the word "shitter." Which is an apt enough description of where that particular movie belongs.

I'm not into politics or economics, I am a visual communicator - according to my bachelor degree - and an artist - according to myself-.
