Before Shadow, we were going to get Terios

What do Sonic and Shadow have in common? They are both hedgehogs, and they're both super-fast. However, there's a saying that they look alike, but I beg to differ you can clearly see they are so different from each other. Almost like Sonic and Shadow balance each other out. One is Yin, the other is Yang. I wanted to know why the character Amy constantly mistakes Shadow for Sonic. And being a complete nerd, I did some research, and the reason behind this whole thing of Sonic and Shadow supposedly looking exactly alike is because of the prototype of the character Terios the hedgehog. That was designed to be Sonic’s rival, figuratively speaking. Shadow wasn't supposed to exist; he was a last-minute change. Here's what I mean: Terios is literally a replica, you could say a mirror, because his name, in Japanese, means "reflection" or "imitation". He is primarily known as a piece of "lost" Sonic history that reappeared as an unlockable skin for Shadow in Sonic x Shadow Generations, It's good to see the prototype actually got some time in the gaming, even though it was put back in storage.

And unlike Shadow, he doesn’t skate; he runs like Sonic. Now let’s look at the quills of Terios’ design, it looks the same way Sonic has his quills, they are down, even the color of their fur is almost similar, the only big difference is Sonic is a bit of a light blue while Terios is a bit of a Navy blue.

Terios wears a scarf, and he has a scar over his right eye. If you were to have them facing away from you, you would not be able to tell the characters unless you looked at their shoes. Terios has boots while Sonic has running shoes, his famous red Nike.

While Terios has a pair of what look like black Converse boots, just with very little lacing.

Now, let's look at Shadow clearly. His design is exactly the opposite of Sonic's: his quills are curved upwards, and he has red marks or stripes, to be more specific. His shoes looked more like Air Jordan except Air Jordans don't have rockets on the bottom.

The two hedgehog species, Sonic and Shadow, are also quite interesting, according to what I found on Google. Sonic is based on a European hedgehog; these little guys hibernate and can withstand the cold. They're a bit bigger than the exotic pet hedgehog, the African pygmy hedgehog, which is what type of hedgehog Shadow is. An African pygmy is a desert type that does not hibernate and is usually isolated, almost like a Shadow, in the TV show called Sonic Boom, where Shadow lives out in the desert, in fact, the desert terrain.

However, I do like the backstory of Shadow being a hybrid alien; it's just sad that he has a really messed-up father who is a complete prick! Even Shadow's powers are pretty cool. I speak of course of the:

* · And finally, the Doom Spears

However, after reviewing Terios' design, I do see some similarity to Silver the Hedgehog.

Look at Silver’s boots and the cufflinks on Silver's wrists; they almost look like Terios. The same goes for the quills on the back of Terios; if you look behind Silver, he has two very long quills that almost look like those on a court jester's hat. So maybe the ones in the front that look like a Maple Leaf are the ones that they just decided to grab and fluff up to make it look like a Maple Leaf but then again, that's just my opinion it's interesting to see a lot of the similarities and other characters that one character can symbolize from another, what's your opinion on this.
