Glorious Revolution 1688
The Glorious Revolution was a bloodless coup d 'etat that took place between 1688 and 1689, when Catholic King James II was deposed from England, followed by his Protestant daughter Mary II and the Dutch husband of his Protestant daughter Mary II of Orange, Prince William. III. Fearing the Catholic dictatorship, the revolution replaced the reign of King James I with the same dynasty of Queen Mary II and William III. When Queen Mary gave birth to the son of James II, the people of England were shocked and intimidated by the Catholic heir to the throne.

Keep going West young man.
“Nothing that results in human progress is achieved in unanimous consent. Those that are enlightened before the others are condemned to pursue that light in spite of others.” I know that this famous quote by the great explorer Christopher Columbus comes in handy with the scope of my topic. This quote speaks about the true nature of those who dare to go beyond and above to achieve greatness. The Panama canal took the world by storm. Many thought that it was an impossible task, but engineers found a way to split the Continent in half, making the dream of keep going west a reality. Like Conquistadors from a not-so-distant past, man went against all odds to bulldoze their way into the inhospitable soil of the unknown.

The golden temple
The site on which the Golden Temple rests has been a space for quiet reflection for centuries. Originally a small lake in the middle of a forest, many saints and sages have stopped here to meditate and dip in the holy waters. Both the Buddha and Guru Nanak have been known to have meditated here, but it was through the blessing of Guru Ram Das, his excavation of the pond and the founding of Amritsar, that it has become the center that it is today.

Pandemic Chic
Disease is something that human kind has learned to live with as a way of life. We adapt to the social requirements that pandemics thrust upon us in order to survive and come out on the other side stronger, more immune, and more educated (hopefully). As the waves of virus and disease ebb and flow throughout humanity's history, so too does fashion in response. Whether it's for protection, for disguise, or for making a statement, we have always used clothing and accessories to communicate and combat the effects of whatever plague may be upon us at that given time. Below are five ways society has used fashion in response to pandemics throughout history:

The Presidential Dinner That Scandalized America
Today’s article involves one of the most famous presidents in US history, President Theodore Roosevelt. He was known for shaking things up and kind of making his own way. In 1901, he did something that wouldn’t seem too controversial to us today. Certainly not. He had someone over for dinner, you know. He’s the president at this time. He’s pretty busy in general. But because he’s the president of the United States, even the smallest of social decisions carry enormous weight in symbolism for the public. It’s not like you or I casually inviting a new friend or new coworker to have some lasagna or something. This is always going to be interpreted as a statement.
