Lose Me: Asteria
She swallows hard tucking her body as close to the wall of the well as she can get without being seen. It’s empty and she can hear the heavy breathing of the woman that followed her. If only her hammering heart would silence as well. Thankfully she’s small and barely noticed as the woman screams and rushes by. More importantly, she can’t stay hidden here for too long. Although, she’s grateful that the well is empty. That is until the bottom suddenly drops beneath her.

A Beginners Guide to Curses
First, let's start by asking what is a curse? Curses are more serious than hexes, and can live on for generations if intended. They’re born of anger, hatred, or justice. However, curses can often be undone, in most cases, by the caster or target. Not feeling up for the long term punishment? Try a hex.

Heaven's Entryway (Part 2)
After I agreed to leave the life I knew behind, and pursue this strange adventure, the Greeter filled me in on a few details. First, his name is Nestor, and it represents an important quality: wisdom. Second, Heaven's Passage-Way is designed to look peaceful and familiar, and so that's why it is a flourishing park. People have been most calm and receptive in a setting that is most familiar when passing through the realms. Third, Heaven is not what humans had imagined it to be, and when you pass through the realm, you lose your original skin, and transform into your soul's form. I haven't made it that far yet.

The "Perfect" World (Preview)
Jonathan did his best to keep from being noticed by everyone else in town, which he had been used to in the past, but it was more complex than just royalty exploring the town this time. Apart from the river of blonde hair streaming down the middle of his coal-black hair and the guitar case strapped on his back (which nobody would notice as much as his outfit and his possibly verbally expressed way of thinking), he was able to blend in with the crowd. It has been a long time since he or his brothers had gotten out of the hideout since their most feared enemy, Victor Bartholomew, had cast a spell on the whole world, one broadcast at a time, forcing everyone into believing in the idea of acting the same to supposedly get rid of the differences that have always been judged. Jonathan and his brothers had been under the radar trying to track down Bartholomew and bring back that the world that once was, but with no success. Before Jonathan went walking, he and the oldest brother, Frederick, were arguing about the expectations in Jonathan’s studies of sorcery and the belief that Jonathan was never going to really progress in it if he can’t even complete potion experiments without threatening existence let alone find his fellow sorcerer. As Jonathan was out of the room, he overheard Frederick mentioning to himself that it might be a beneficial idea to exile the younger of the two and find a replacement for him that was less like the nerd. Jonathan was uncertain of what to do, so he took out from his wardrobe an outfit that resembled what the mind controlled men were wearing and went out.

Calypso's Daughters
The Oceanides, Goddesses, and Water Nymphs Mermaids in mythology are believed to only exist in the minds of sailors, who claim to have spotted them while on long ocean voyages. Christopher Columbus wrote, in 1493, that he saw them near the coast of Hispaniola, and described them as "three female forms, rising high out of the sea, but not as beautiful as represented." The records of the English pirate, Blackbeard, tell of him instructing his crew to steer clear of waters he claimed were 'enchanted' by mermaids. The tale goes on that they were afraid of sailing through the charted waters, due to the mermaids seducing the men into giving up their gold and dragging the ships underwater. In Korean mythology, a mermaid warns islanders about impending storms by throwing rocks into the sea and singing. Another Korean tale is a story about an undersea kingdom ruled by a Princess named Hwang-Ok. Carved depictions of the beautiful, mysterious, half-human and half-fish creatures, dating back to the 11th century, have been found in the British Isles. In British folklore, mermaids were believed to provoke disaster, because they always seemed to be seen before it struck. This made them into unlucky omens.

The Room at the Top of the Stairs
His parents had been together a very long time. Whenever they would begin to argue, they would decide to paint a mural in the room at the top of the stairs. Mateo was never allowed in this room. La Luna
It was a pleasure to feast. To hunt under a night sky that condemned him to tear the linen from his body and run freely through a decomposing wood was storybook. A man would forever have desires, and although most men lusted over the blonde at the local inn that had been giving him eyes all night, or really any ladies thighs they could bury their heads between, Isaac fawned for what was really underneath her breasts.
