extraterrestrial
Speculation, theory, UFOs and Aliens. Are we alone in this universe or is there life outside Earth?
Flirting with the Zodiac
When I was a child, the Fifth Dimension told me it was the dawning of the “Age of Aquarius” and to “Let the Sun Shine.” My mother had me read her her horoscope from the newspaper every morning while she got ready for work. Even my grandmother read her daily horoscope.

The Capsule
The object drifted casually into the atmosphere just before dawn that morning and within seconds gravity had clutched it in its unyielding hands, pulling it violently to the ground. After thoroughly inspecting the nature of its composition, our greatest minds concluded, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the object was indeed of alien origin. The world was stunned. Here was the answer to a question we had been pondering throughout the ages. A battered, bruised capsule, no larger in size than a small boulder, silently shouting a truth that was no longer deniable - we are not alone.

The Little Book of Adventures
Zoe loved to wake up in the third top bunk of her grandparents Earth village. One of the most noticeable things about the place was all the different smells, like Grandpa's left over cooking of fresh green tree fish, to Grandma's books giving off a sweet mildew smell.

Chasing Wind
A brisk wind pelted my face with tiny granules as I stood staring down at my empty street. A thick blanket of fresh snow covered a thin layer of ice, warding travelers off the roads. The ice was so bad that cars were parked off their steep driveways and stacked neatly along the street.

Hereditary
Early morning light filtered through the gauzy curtains and I squeezed my eyes shut even tighter. I was having such a good dream. There had been aliens and a fantastical dimension that I’d somehow ended up in, the undulating scenery around me full of bright colors, colors I didn’t even know existed. I’d had these same kind of dreams as a child, but the more time I spent awake, the more the dream would slip away until it had all but disappeared. Sure enough, as sleep ebbed away and my mind started whirring once more, remembering it felt difficult, like trying to hold on to something slippery and wriggling and wet.

Gold and Purple Love Zaps
The little black book is the best thing that ever happened to me. I found it on the countertop of the bar where I worked in my early 20s. I had served some dainty, well groomed man one too many mimosas on a Sunday afternoon. I remember him writing zealously in the book, taking breaks to sip his beverage- pinky out- and run a hand through his immaculate blond hair. Then I watched him stumble out into the street in his brown tweed slacks, leaving the book behind and a twenty dollar tip. I didn’t notice the book in time to catch him.

All That and A Bag of Chips
The wind bit roughly at Edge’s fingers as he reached into the gutter. The notebook had been there 3 days and no one else seemed interested in it at all. As his fingers got close to it, a tingle flowed through them, up his arm, and into his shoulder. He shuddered and pulled his hand back.

The Getaway Vehicle
The airlock hissed and the planet’s weak atmospheric pressure crept in, threatening to evaporate her. But she’d been waiting. Preparing. She was ready. She held her form as tightly as possible as the three-foot-thick door swung open. All she needed was one. One warm body.

Beyond Green Moon Cafe
Beyond Green Moon Cafe by Karen Leech The distant golden sun was moving rapidly across the sky as the tiny blue earth planet spun on its tilted axis. Glistening silver stars painted speckles on the black sky on one side of the earth, while a sprawling canvas of iridescent blue stretched out towards each horizon on the other.
